I just want to make a comment about the top 10% are the ones that get punished in SBMM and thats not true. I am an Average player and when I play COD I can predict what I am going to get in my next game by my performance in the last game. If I get curb stomped in at least 2 matches I know I will get an easy lobby the next match and probably the one after that but if I win that first match I will be placed with crappy teammates the next match and I will pop off only to lose. Then the next 2 or 3 matches I will break even and then its back to getting curb stomped for the next 2 or 3 matches and the cycle repeats. SBMM is so predictable and takes away the fun. I never see improvement and my KD has never changed in COD which gives me no incentive to do better. Now in Xdefiant my KD keeps climbing and I see the improvement and I very seldom have matches where I get absolutely curb stomped and I finally can play with my son again cause he is way better than I am and before I just couldn't compete in his lobbies that is why no SBMM is way better and alot more fun.

I get some sweat lobbies but I honestly just hate the 15 min it takes to get in & out of games

At the end of the day, The game became way to spammy, adding more and more barrel spawns too. Unless you play ranked very few of your deaths will make you feel like youve been outplayed. Its just hectic chaos now and the decision to turn up destruction was a horrible one. The game was honestly healthier in beta. Healing needs to be removed, some damages turned down, i think light dash is honestly fine maybe needs some tuning, defib nerf is fine. Abilities across the board need a longer cooldown, turrets need a rework. frags dont need 2 charges. too much spam not enough tactics, players should be using these abilities with thought and intention not just throwing it at anything that moves. the new S&D gamemode is honestly better than casual tourney at this point.

As someone who had to sweat in COD most of their entire grind and switched to XDefiant It is ass still getting curbstomped but now i know is because i'm bad at gunfights but good at keeping objectives Also i had a reason to really learn map layout rather than occupy one building

World boss is great but keep in mind these guys are based out of Australia with a massive audience in America. Server issues are expected with that long if distance physically and technologically between both countries

Confused on why with that many subs and quality video the views are so low

Is xdefiant a little sweaty? Sure but no we’re near cods level. At first I was frustrated at getting stomped but now I am having fun because I got better😂

this is hilarious to me as i have never played a game like cod before and my xdefiant lobbies only sometimes have me getting completely destroyed

I'm having a blast with the game, even though my PC can't really handle the game lol. It's definitely made me realize i'm not as good as i though, coming from other shooters like bloodstrike, but i'm having a lot of fun. I consistently get low k/d in matches, but manage to win by playing objective (if my team is also playing objective), and i feel like i've been improving a bit recently, having adapted more to the movement and changing up my playstyle, i managed to get a positive k/d in a few matches and also be player of the game in two matches, it's a lot of fun

I am no close to the best 10% of the player base. But I still enjoy not having sbmm, it doesn't matter I can get destroyed, I don't get frustrated, I try to get better and acknowledge skills of my opponents. And sometimes I am the better one or on the better side and I can enjoy killing

This is not a cod game you want sbmm shut up and keep playing cod

I'm what you youngsters would call a Boomer. I started play COD back with COD 2. I don't play COD any more because it just got boring and I don't like the monetization practices. I'm not good at the game and most likely never will be. I started playing Xdefiant at launch and in just the short time it's been out I've seen more sweaty lobbies then in any other game. If I'm getting my poop pushed in game after game after game it's just not fun and I will just rage quit the lobby. I play to have fun so if I'm not having fun then what's the point of playing. I will just uninstall and move on. So most people on the internet will just laugh and make some snarky comment but game devs want people to play their game and if people aren't having fun then they won't play their game.

I just think modern FPS shooters seem to be all based on absurd cracked out movement now instead of aiming and shooting.

Everyone has a right to there views and I respect that . As for a casual player who is real bad at gaming I agree that sbmm should not be in gaming as well as being forced to play cross platform every one should have the Wright to turn off if they wish.

It's not even skill based matchmaking. Its engagement optimized match making. Mark Rubin even explains the difference. So COD if it sees you are struggling, it will throw you an easy lobby for a dopamine hit so you don't quit. So really, it still lets noobs get stomped in order to keep players addicted. COD is rigged like a slot machine.

I rather have my games have organic matchmaking than have it be manipulated by an algorithm. This is how games used to always be. At most there was lobby balancing but that was about it. It goes way back. I remember in call of duty 2 multiplayer, players would get switched teams mid game to balance the lobby out. There was no sbmm though

Ive never been good at COD style games. I cant even play this game cause when you combine my shitty ping with the terrible servers its just unplayable.

The issue is that it’s not even skill based matchmaking, it’s engagement based matchmaking.

If you think sbmm should be a thing in these games then just stay on cod.

Great vid. Here's my take on it, from someone who started playing COD with COD 2: Big Red One. I am on the upper end of average, but average nonetheless. I carry a 1.2 KD in XDefiant with a 1.0 win/loss ratio. In Cold War, I made it well into the top 1% after dedicating almost 1,000 hours to the game, but that was an anomaly. I don't usually get that far. I've dropped nukes, but I don't get them regularly. So, in COD, when I do bad SBMM protects me and when I do good SBMM makes the game unplayable for me. With all that said, I absolutely prefer the no SBMM casual games in XDefiant. Here's the deal: My games tend to be about 50/50. In some games, I'm dominating lobbies with 50+ kills and a 3.0 or 4.0 KD. In some games, I'm getting dominated by players who are much better than me. But, generally, it's one or two players on the other team that are like that and not the whole team. At the same time, I don't feel like I'm forced to carry my team in those instances. What this means is I can take time to pay attention to what those good players are doing that makes them good and try to copy it. I've already seen growth in my skill level and coming in to XDefiant with the understanding that I'm good but not great and with the mentality that finding great players and learning from them is a GOOD THING has been a real breath of fresh air. The bottom line is: You don't get good at a game by playing against people who are just like you. You get good at a game by playing against people who are better than you and learning from it.

I think an issue with this situation is that XDefiant has completely removed sbmm whereas older cod games still had sbmm but there was a lower amount of sbmm. I think sbmm has a small place in gaming, seeing as it's everywhere in gaming nowadays. But the high sbmm that cod has been using is far to aggressive. But having 0 sbmm can be just as sweaty because there is no protection bracket. It's random. Older cod games had a small protection bracket that sometimes alleviated the issue of getting into sweaty lobbies.

The one thing that stands out about cod compared to most other competitive shooter games, is that its ranked play is never looked at. Almost any other popular shooter game, is known for their ranked play. But because no one care about cod's ranked play, they force sbmm into casual play to make it even for everyone. I think if activision stops their yearly cycle and focused on one cod, and made their ranked play more known, sbmm would be removed.

SBMM has kept an entire generation from improving. I’m 51 and I was so frustrated with COD. Melt a lobby get into a lobby with a clan of top 250 skins. Revenge spawns and on and on. I am having fun with X defiant and I find it so much more consistent the experience is.

ive learned its not even sbmm anymore its the damn super aim assist in COD.put input based matchmaking in the game !
