You know your tool better than anyone, but my first impression was, before you even mentioned it, was the outer sleeved pick would be susceptible to slipping.We all have inventor's bias. But regardless, what could you do to reduce the slipping? Most people will be hard on a tool and expect reliability.

Hi! I have a Berger Lahr Model VRDM 3913 LNB & VRDM 366/50 LNB Servos. But I don't have a good knowledge of how to operate these and also how to identify wires. Could you pls help me to give it a start. I have a fair knowledge of Servo Motors and Arduino. But have no access to relevent literature re. Subject matter. Kindly be good enough to direct on setting up the same. Gerald
It will be difficult for me to help you here. A quick google search finds the servo available on several resellers websites. www.unisgroup.com/products/vrdm-3913-50-lnb/ I would recommend asking them for documentation. most servos can operate in speed, torque, step/dir, and digital mode. Find out how to change the gearing ratio in the controller. you can run it with a frequency generator as i showed here.

The sweep command certainly works. I'm wondering if the sheetmetal function will be able to manage this so that it will give a flat pattern in the end.
In inventor theres a tube and pipe module that i use for mapping hydraulic lines. Maybe the same thing is for fusion?

Hello, In the video, the program 48 of the servo driver is set at 1000. When set with the tone function tone(pin13, 10*1000, 1000), the servo motor do complete turn in one second. Does it means that if the program 48 was set at 500, the servo motor would turn twice in one second? Thank you.
Are you using encoder feedback to the mesa card? If not, does the drive jave a tuning function?
This is an open loop to the board but it communicates to the controller. If you want a semi closed loop run error codes from the controller in case a step is missed

this will probably sound stupid but why does the motor constantly spin if you wired it to position mode? Shouldnt that be speed mode?
That is not a stupid question. Here, we are sending a tone which changes the position, making it look like its spinning. In an industry setting you would send 5000 pulses in 0.1s to rotate 180 degrees. In speed mode, i believe it works off an analog voltage as a motor.
A wiring diagam and code would grately appreciated..

Thanks for this tutorial. It was really useful. I bought the same servo motor and driver and in 15min, I was able to control it. Have you ever tried to control this servo motor by position? E.g. go to 20 degrees or go back to intial position. I guess you would need to get position feedback from the encoder. Do you thik this would be possible with an arduino? Thanks in advance.
Hello, You can indeed recieve position output through the arduino. The demonstration was done in a step/dir open loop connection. Note the arduino program needs a lot of checks to run a good closed loop system that would not self interfere. I have created closed loop systems with these servos but i have only done so using a PLC. If you wish to create your own system, i would do it with ladder logic and a PLC, micro chips are not fast enough if you wish to go faster.
I was on the lockpicking discord looking for disk picks and they spoke of the discombobulator, but also, a higher end pick thats also made by Tarehjerne. Is this true?
A lot of higher end disc detainer tools are made by me, including the discombobulator. The higher end tools are made on demand so i dont have any in stock. What were you thinking?

Hello everyone, i would like to hear your opinion about somethimg. i am concerned about design of abloy protec 2's sidebar. I own 358 and when i checked the core i noticed that sidebar is very thin. Also, 90% of sidrbar wasnt even spported by solid brass. Mostly disk spacers were holding it in place. After couple years of rusting, already thin sidebar may additionaly deteriate and weaken. I am afraid that this (in my opinion) weak design makes it suspectible to torquing-the-core attack (someone could put flathead scrwdiver bit in wrench and start torquing the lock until it or bit brakes). I am really concerned and would really appreciate hearing your opinions. Thank you for your time. P.S. sorry for grammar, i am not native speaker.
Yes you can force protec2 locks open. Its not that easy, you will have to use sufficient force to get it around, but it is possible. Its also possible to cut the shackle with a grinder or drill the lock out.
Theoretically, what you are doing is possible, but the minimum you need to know about this padlock is the CODE of the key.. if you don't know it and you don't know the angles of the discs - it's a total failure! Time, time, time, passes.. You can tickle this padlock long and well! Yes, let's not forget that despite all this, the padlock is easier to open than the euro cylinder). Abloy knows what he's doing!

I can try to be of help. For a machine purpose I would not use an arduino. Please check out the Mesa store for linux cnc parts.
Remember me a little to a Fichet 787 french Lock. This Rosengrens Lock looks very secure

Did you set any parameters or setup in the motor before running the code?
Editing the vid now! No you dont need to set any parameters, only P04A (electronic gear box) to fit your purpose. I do recommend tuning the servo to reduce resonance when using it on a system. I am editing the followup vid now
