Bro, I'm 5'4 on a 32-in seat with the Aprilia rs660. When I carry my girlfriend on the back it is so fucking hard to keep the bike upright. It's always so difficult when stopping and always making sure that the bike leans on the foot I have down I know she loves it riding with me but it's so hard wcarrying a passenger around

Everything I’ve heard about motorcycle cops from other cops is that they’re the biggest turbonerds in any department. As explained to me: “you’d think all the guys on the spectrum are in forensics or something like that, but no they’re actually all motorcycle patrol”. The motorcycle skills/handling cert for the job is legit one of the hardest, strictest driving skills tests anywhere on earth (FortNine did a really good video about it, including footage of Ryan getting a failing grade) with like 90%+ fail rates in some places.

I am all for ATGATT, but essentially it is to each their own. The thing with hi viz gear is that it needs to hi viz in relation to the surroundings and the lighting conditions. On a bright sunny day, riding near fields, neon gear is not hi viz. But the same neon is indeed hi viz in the rain when lighting is poor.

I ride a bagger and lane splitting is a bit problematic for me, and as you, live in Washington state so we get no mercy from law enforcement. I will filter through to the front at a stoplight or use the median if I’m in the 30 mile long Seattle parking lot we call “I-5.” However, this is I risk I personally take because the WA State Troopers will jump on you like you were public enemy number one. I did hear something interesting from a road flagger on a ride to Leavenworth last summer. She said that in training they were told that if traffic was stopped for more than 5 minutes, motorcycles could cut to the front because of exhaust fumes. Not sure if it’s true, but I’ve been doing it ever since.
