William Dembski and Muzaffar Iqbal discuss the rise of evolution and Muslim Evolutionists.
Evolution met its most serious challenge through the work of scientists and philosophers who connected with the Intelligent Design Movement. ID scientists and theorists have used scientific proofs and philosophical arguments to show how specified complexity cannot be produced by random and chance processes. Pre-modern Muslim scholars had also produced a large body of scholarly works on Design. How can these two design theologies come together?
In this conversation, William Dembski, one of the most important voices in the ID movement, and Muzaffar Iqbal discuss the rise of evolution, its various versions, the recent emergence of Muslim evolutionists, the relationship between the design arguments in the Islamic tradition and arguments expounded by the ID scientists and philosophers and possible future cooperation between the two sides.
Keywords: Evolution; Theistic Evolution; Intelligent Design Movement; Historical aspects of evolution and design; No Free Lunch; implications of evolutionary narrative in culture, history, theology; possible collaboration between Muslim scholars and ID movement.

Teaching persuasive writing from the Quranic perspective
zhlédnutí 49Před rokem
Every Muslim teacher faces this dilemma: How do I teach a unit on persuasive writing from the Qur'anic perspective? What resources are there for me to distinguish this teaching from the secular approach. Can I just use an "Islamic topic" and be satisfied that I have taught my students a great lesson? What does Allah Most High teach us about persuasion in His book? Teaching Persuasive writing is...
From Muslim to Islamic Schools

How do we make Muslim schools Islamic? Islamic education system did not collapse; it chocked to death, initially, slowly and imperceptibly, but later in broad daylight, in front of the helpless onlookers, over the course of the 11th/17th century. This demise may also be irrevocable. Despite certain recent attempts to cast away the gloom of that bleak century, there is no denying the fact that i...

As Salaamu Alaikum. My dear brother, I would strongly advise that you actually listen to the online recordings between Sheikh Nuh Keller and Sheikh Ali Hani. You would realize that they literally consider multiple perspectives of the greatest scholars of tafsir, and that many of your complaints are not based upon firm scholarship. For example, you find fault with the themes of the suras, when the themes he extracted are based on the works of scholars. You also find fault with the meanings of Arabic words that he has translated. Were you to listen to the online recordings you may realize that they examine the meaning of a word according to 10-15 of the greatest scholars of tafsir and Arabic, not just a single work. In summary your faults with this work are faults with great scholars, not Sheikh Nuh. Listen to the online lessons and you will see. Thank you! 0

Shaykh Nuh Keller is conducting a detailed course explaining his choices during translation. There is nothing substantial in your critique. Just a petty nitpicking awkward competitor’s review. You clearly don’t seem to be qualified to comment not this work. Viewers can clearly see your English is very poor, pronunciation is horrible and you cannot read Arabic except with a lot of difficulty. You are embarrassing yourself.
