The most important bit in this level is to get through it as fast as you can once you're inside the building.

Not included are the more obvious ways, like throwing a Terror Dart or letting an enemy discover a body while using the Path of Nightmares garb. God, I love this game. In retrospect, I probably could've done things faster if I used Smoke Bomb more and didn't save the ninjas, but I wasn't really going for a speedrun here. Mark of the Ninja is a stealth action game developed by Klei Entertainment, the creators of Shank and Shank 2.

Second boss of the game. The fight doesn't seem to differ from Yunica's scenario in any way. I'm at lv12 in the video, all his attacks take off at least a third of my health, some can one-shot if they hit. Gotta say I don't really dig Hugo's skills/spells. Yunica's are all strictly assault-oriented, Hugo's are gimmicky support spells. You have to rely on your normal attack to do damage most of ...

The first actual boss fight in the game. Hugo's version of him differs from Yunica's in that the larvae it spits out actively pursue you instead of scuttling around randomly. They're pretty deadly on Nightmare and may stunlock you or push you into the green orbs. They lead on your movement in weird ways when they approach you. The first mini-boss in Hugo's scenario of Ys Origin. I found her much harder in Hugo's route than in Yunica's, mostly because it's nigh impossible to avoid that fire lunge attack, unless you're on the other end of the room from her when she does it. Each of the flames she leaves in her wake in that attack also counts as a separate hit, so it'll bust your shield most of the time as well.

This guy is pretty hard even on normal. The trick is to hold off destroying the plates on his spine until all of them are fairly damaged, so that you can destroy several in one go. If you destroy them one by one you'll get swamped in those flesh bombs he drops from each destroyed plate. Thanks to XSEED for bringing the Ys franchise out of Japan, really enjoying it so far.

So apparently the one class that's most likely to want to stick to cover as much as possible gets a pet that's maniacally obsessed with demolishing said cover for no reason other than to satisfy its murderous urges. Thanks, Relic. I do not own any IP used in this video.

He's got revolver ammo, combat rifle ammo, tranq darts, stun gun charges, rate-of-fire mod and explosive rounds mod the first time around. Very useful guy.

Yeah, sound design is definitely not this game's strongest suit. But it's a now-ancient Japanese indie game, gotta cut it some slack.

When I did the missions in that city, I went through the sewers and I met that vendor and I thought he was a guard and knocked him out (person for the lack of hortography is that I am from latam)

How are you able choose those options at the beginning? Is that a DLC? I'm trying to play Mark of the Ninja without kills, but I am missing the darts for some reason, and I can't get past the guard without killing him (right after I get the sword).
I've already completed the game and was replaying the first missions when recording this, so I have all the tools unlocked. You'll get the darts pretty soon, almost right after you get the sword. Don't mind the kills and just go forward for now.
Got it thanks :) I also watched another video where the guy did some fancy jumping and grappling at the same time to grapple over guards so I have been doing that most of the time, or just hitting the lights with darts and leaping over the guards seeing zone in the shadows.

I love the lightning stage in this game. Sure it could give your location away, but it can also let a nearby enemy see your handiwork involving a hanged soldier in a quick flash. That is just too damn perfect!

How did you get lucky enough for the boss to not go into its rolling phase until after you'd already destroyed all of the spikes on its back? Either way, nice work.

just killing everyone will rack up some points but u have to do sum tricks like terifying+tool kills +body hiding to get the 600 points on kill.no alarms and no deaths is harder to achieve but more rewarding ninjawise
My favourite challenge is the ‘noisy shadow’ challenge. In which you must never get caught but you must get the distraction bonus on all guards. You can actually do it on the first mission with a fresh file
This will be quite funny if you terrify some bandits.Their outcry is hilarious. XD

I had thought perfect stealth meant no distractions if that's even possible. 2:33 You can actually just leap over soldiers like this in the dark with the torch pointed on the ground.

Why does everyone think Hugos game is so easy on Nightmare mode, but they're scared to even TOUCH Yunica on Nightmare? Honestly, I don't get it, cause I thought Yunica was far more versatile and easier to play.

Hugo looks like easymode compared to Yunica. I just finished Yunica's story on Nightmare... that was hard O_O At least Hugo has a spammable perma-invincible shield. Yunica only has her Hammer skill, and it only grants a very small window of invincibility frames x.x

He can only be accessed once Tong Si Hung sends Adam Jensen on the mission to the docks.
