I been thinking about putting in a max10 in a 1/7 scale truck and making it light as possible (1/10 spec)to run on one 3s but for a manufacturer to put a max10 in a truck this big is strange. That thing flys in the air though definitely has potential with how the weight distribution is set up out 😎👍

Ive had one since the 299 sale. Likes - HW esc thats easy to program - great handling off road - tires wear great for me - fast enough to run tracks with UDRs and SBRs - it likes a two 2s battery setup -Redcat has been great with help - body is super tough Dislikes - would be way better with 5 lbs shaved off somehow - needs stiffer chassis, tweeked mine a couple times. Redcat did send me a new one free - needs stronger/faster servo but all RTRs do - you will eventually want more 6s and or hight tooth pinion due to its weight - needs a more size-forgiving battery strap system, not long enough for 4s packs - Mods Ive done is just shock fluid is now Valvoline 70-120, locktight on driveshaft grug screws, removed most of ttoe-in both front and back. If for some reason you get a sticky steering linkage, check the chassis for tweeks. Had two back wrecks and after each steering was almost locked. Double thick popcan shim between front bulkhead and chassis fixed it fine. That odd eclosed steering linkage it unforgiving to tweekage.

My buddy has one but the shocks are junk they don't hold up to the weight of the truggy even change the shock oil and springs

I grabbed this when they had it on sale for $299. I couldn't pass that deal up! Haven't run it yet as im swapping the motor and esc. You should grab one of the max8 quick runs for this. They are a great value/esc for the money. I grabbed a max8 G2 as it would arrive faster. You got me motivated to do the swap and test er out! Great job going over everything 👏🏻 👍🏻

There’s no break in procedure for brushless motors. Only brushed motors and engines have break in procedures

Why go for the 4s? The 6s is worth the extra cost

Probably the best Machete video out there. Covers it, has bashing. Looks like a fun ripper. I like the stance & overall look of it. Sounds like it's worth spending just a 100 more to get the 6s version with the better ESC & motor. Let us know if it handles those larger, wider tires okay. They look cool but that'll also be more stress in the drivetrain.... Just as a heads up for anybody not in the know, apparently if you ever switch motors (or not one of Redcat's motors), you'll be hard pressed to find a motor that has a 25mm long motor shaft. I guess standard is 20 and with 20 with the motor plate so thick, the pinion doesn't really fit on. Another guy made a video about the motor mount in how he wishes it wasn't so thick. But if you don't plan on switching motors, then it's kinda a moot point.

This thing is beast when you have a programmable receiver and adjust the Throttle Exponential to something like -30... It allows for a more smooth throttle curve and makes the vehicle a lot more controllable.

That's why Kevin is king on finding out if an RC is durable or not.😂 Good stuff, man.
