Man you're a huge inspiration, I had some problems and let myself go, I gained literally 40 kilos (88,something pounds) and it came to me these times memories of when I used to be fit and play pump it up, very similar game to DDR. And then I said...Why not? Going back to it? Sure there are no arcades around anymore where I live, but I can improvise a pad or just follow the steps on a video. Already lost 20kg of that, 20 to go 😃. And won't stop until I get there. Also dieting along to help and training the upper body in other ways so I won't just train legs.

Amazing!! I know it was 2 years ago but can I ask, do you remember if you lost weight more in specific parts of your body or equally throughout? MAX300 song is such a difficult song, I just got back into DDR again & after watching this video I'm feeling inspired to push myself!
pretty equally.... I think it was most noticeable in my face and stomach though
impressive! ... i do have to point out that a 1st stage clear is more lenient on the lifebar than a final stage one though. but a clear is a clear!

It's funny this popped up cause I've been dieting and gym 6 days a week for months but I've HATED cardio for YEARS. It took a date to Cidercade when I remembered DDR was a thing I used to play all the time and picked up a soft pad, hard pad modded it and I've been doing the same thing. About a hour a day for the last month. Hitting it so hard I already broke the first one and had to replace it. And the results are impressive! I've gone from just big to more defined in just a month and no signs of stopping! . I'm just barely getting in to hard territory so no need for a hard pad yet but if I keep this up I can already see the purchase in the future. Cool video

You need to look up and try out ITG Stamina charts for Stepmania. They're at least an hour long and with nearly nonstop arrow streams
No way!! This is my dream!!! I neeeeeed one! Hands down the BEST game ever! But are you able to add your own music? My local arcade is having trouble because the memory/ music was wiped and since they went out of business they don’t know how to get it back online or how to get music back on it! 😢
you can't, at least not officially. if you want to have custom songs the best way to do it is to convert the cabinet to run some version of stepmania, wether that be using the latest version (5.1) or using something like in the groove 2

ITs not just the cardio, You building coordination, balance, strengthening your motor cortex functions, reflex, spine to brain communication, and also promoting new neuron cell growth via neurogenesis. Aside from having more stamina you should be able to notice a higher degree of motor control in your professional live.
Can you explain to me how I too can achieve more neuron cell growth via neurogenesis by playing a dancing simulation game?
@@KighaFreewren989 Simple: your brain knows not the difference weather you are in a virtual simulation or not. The same coordinating movements you make in virtual game is the same you make in real life. and you are as a matter of fact dancing in real life, just with virtual visual ques to make things more interesting. You will be training your motor cortex which will increase your balance, reaction, and peripheral bodily awareness. Just cause its virtual stimulation coming from a simulation does not mean your brain respond any differently then in real life, and that's both scary and optimistically hopeful for its potential.

Tbh if you’re going to use the soft pads as a casual thing, go ahead, I use one too. Just a more expensive one but not to the point that it’s worth just as much as a hard board. But personally if you do like ddr after this and you want to continue, consider investing in a hard board with a handle bar. If that’s a bit too much, try using a travel pad.
