A-I can do prompts and scripts but it can't do DIY! See some our best LOL's...
Awesome!!!!! Ur giving me bad ideas to tear up the yard
I like it! May as well try it. And even if it was touching the ground…Man the stuff contractors put on or in the ground when they build a house. Half the time they’ll dig a big hole with a backhoe and bury it all.
Hey man, they might be super sweet, the smallest watermelons tend to be sweeter.
Vikings and many other peoples would boil down gallons of pine sap/tar and pitch the inside of their ships and boats to make them more ocean going and water tight.
Waooooooo
LOL...thanks for posting
Sounds just like my dad when he says water… that southern dad accent
We don't fake it...we keep it real. Thanks!
Thank you
You are welcome and thank you for posting...blessings to you and your family.
The danger with cast iron in vinegar is putting the surfaces with the acid in the vinegar. The vinegar will do more damage than the rust did. Soak it a couple hours at most and get scrubbing with a scotchbrite pad.
Thank you for posting and vinegar does have a lot of acid. Remember drinking on an empty stomach. Not a great memory...lol.
How much vinegar 😮is needed?!
It varies based upon what you are cleaning but one gallon can diluted with water can go a very long way. Good luck to you
Thank you for sharing.
The pleasure is all mine...I enjoy sharing and helping when I can. I am working on something now and will probably post the video within 2 weeks. Thanks for posting
Just watched your video on removing rust from cast iron pots, so I'm new to your channel. I loved that video and this one too. I am sending you get well wishes for a speedy and full recovery from my home to yours. Greetings, love & Blessings to you from NY. 👋🕊🙏🧡💐
AWESOME...AWESOME...AWESOME! That is such a nice comment and it means a lot. Can't say thank you enough but thank you!
@farminghowto You are VERY WELCOME!!! I hope with each passing day you grow a little stronger and feel a little better. Sending continued love and prayers for a full recovery. God Bless you. 🕊🙏🧡
ya great!! BUT YOU DON'T GIVE THE RATIO OF WATER AND VINEGAR
I did post that previously but not in this particular video because I did not know what to expect. I only used One Gallon of vinegar in a large storage bin. Please accept my apology and thanks for posting
you found gold right there. good job
I am excited about the discovery. Blessing to you and your family.
I just leave mine out just off the back porch here in Oklahoma mid-July. Man it's HAWWTT! My brother let my cast iron dutch oven get rusty after deer camp one year. At fish camp that spring I thought we was gonna get bro-vorced! lol. We vinegar soaked it first day, foil scrubbed it, then seasoned it on the campfire. Slicker'n a hot Snickers! Be well Sir, and I subscribed!
Slicker'n a hot Snickers! LOL...I can relate to that statement but you have to lick the snickers from the paper when it's that hot...glad you saved the dutch oven
@@farminghowtothat’s right!
Love it! My compost pile looks like black gold! I’m 3 years in on it and it is literally black gold!
That is absolutely encouraging to me. I was born on this land and it hasn't been farmed over 50 years...great soil but I wanted to learn how to compost and I am glad I did. Thanks for posting, I appreciate it.
Love this! I had a bunch of my dads tools, hacksaws, axes etc that were so rusty! I used this method and they look brand new! He would be so proud! Thank you!
Thank you for posting and I am so glad you were able to save those tools. It's amazing...we use tools to make stuff but by default, the tools become just as precious. Blessing to you
@@farminghowto , indeed they are! My dad was military so all of his things were in containers, labeled. My sister is not one to work with her hands so I got them all! They are a treasure I will pass down to my own children!
@@SheilaG971 Awesome!
Good job
Thank you so much for posting, it means a lot.
Very helpful!! Thank you!!
We learn as we go, and I think we have a responsibility to share with and help others along the way. This gardening this is challenging! Potentially rewarding but very challenging.
Great video! Thanks for showing how it's done!
Thank you and you are welcome. Blessing to you and your family.
Love your channel. Hope you make a full recovery!

coca cola will take 20 mins not 2 wks - you're welcome
I would drink the coca cola within 10 minutes...lol. Thanks for the tip and thanks for posting
Excellent point! Great videos.
Thank you very much for commenting. Never "Allow" anyone to steal your dreams.
Wow!!!
That is exsactly what I said when I removed them from the water. Just glad I had the vision to record this one.
Baking soda also helps. Use as last step
I may try baking soda just as a test but seems like it would be rather messy but it may be a great option. Thanks for posting.
God Bless You Sir and your wife!!!! New subbie here as I originally sought out how to remove rust from a cast iron skillet and came across your channel. As I attempt to write this, tears are forming...thank you so much for such an encouraging post. So, spirit-filled and totally embraced by me. Blessings to you and your family and remember, saying YES to yourself is not saying NO to others they just take it that way.
that's looks over a 100 dollars of cast iron
Nice job!
Thank you for the compliment and blessings to you.
Looks pretty good. Should make a great using set once you get it all seasoned. Be aware that vinegar's acetic acid can eat into the good iron too. Diluting vinegar with water will work slower but be less likely to do damage to the good iron. I forgot a piece in an undiluted vinegar bath once and it did some acid damage to it. At least it was a cheap imported griddle. Learned not to soak iron for more than a few minutes and then scrub and repeat. Keeps me out of trouble caused by forgetting them.
Great points across the board. I used one gallon of vinegar and filled the bin with water. I actually ignored it for two weeks because I did not want to clean it. Probably could have removed them sooner. Thanks for posting
I truly enjoy your videos, sir. I found your how to remove rust from cast iron skillet video clip and ended up watching your other videos. You’ve just earned a new subscriber. Get well soon.
I apologize for the delayed reply but thank you for posting and I have some new content coming soon. Blessing to you and your family.
What do you mean by seasoning?
It's a process of baking on an oil coating to make the pan nonstick again
Thank you for replying, I really appreciate the support
Thanks for stopping by and posting. I actually seasoned these on the grill, they turned out real good.
I love your honesty. You keep trying new things with a positive attitude and it’s so refreshing! Thank you for your videos!
That is a very kind post and thank you for replying...blessings to you and your family
How do you get rid of the taste? I bought a new cast iron and didn't use it for a while. But when I used it a couple of times recently, the food tasted iron/metaly. I tried washing well but still tasted metal.
Test...Test...Test. Perhaps try seasoning them again. I really appreciate you posting.
Well could you have shown us exactly how you over pruned, that would be more helpful.
Thanks for replying! I am an amateur and I accidentally cut away too many of the stems thinking that would help grow bigger melons. I should've just let them grow naturally...lesson learned.
The only way you could've over-pruned is if you got less than 2 melons per plant. You only want 2-3 watermelon per plant, any more and your melons will be small just like the ones you have in the video. One you have about 3 on the vine snip pretty much anything extending beyond the next node and also snip any other suckers. You should get much better results next time.
@@dustin3213 You hit the nail on the head partner! It was horrible and I honestly did not know what I was doing. Have not pruned anything yet this year and leaves are healthy and flowering. Thanks for your comment
I’ve heard using Evapo rust is the best.
Thanks for the tip, I will keep that in mind for a future test.
Damn that’s a lot of rust!
It was and I had no idea how this project would turn out but it worked. Yhanks for replying
Junk it ain't worth your time trying to bring it back
Thanks for stopping by the channel. I thought the same thing...lol. Big surprise when it came clean
Could you please post a video on how you season it?
I posted a video about that. I seasoned them on my grill using old cooking oil...lol
Excellent 💪🏿
Thanks for the encouraging post.
How much did you pay for all that ? Just curious.
I was shocked to get all of these from an older lady having a garage sale for only $45. She just did not want them anymore and at the time I did not know how I was going to clean them.
Excellent video! What is a good vinegar:water ratio?
Test different amounts predicated upon what you are trying to clean. One bottle of vinegar diluted goes a long way. I had no idea what I was doing when I soaked the cast iron in vinegar and water. I basically ignored them for two weeks
1 cut and its over
Are you saying 1 cut in the cast iron?
I didn’t know you can leave them in vinegar bath for 2 weeks. They said that destroys the cast iron. Only 30 minutes I thought?
I did not know it either...lol. I was simply testing a theory and simply ignored them for two weeks, They all still look great. Thanks for posting
So glad i found your channel!
Blessings to you...I am excited that you found the channel also and thanks for posting. I am just glad to be able to share a tip or two.
May God continue to bless you and heal you! Thank you for the update. Please don’t do too much!❤
Thank you so much for posting this. I have been taking it easy and glad to be back in the garden. Blessings to you and your family
@@farminghowto Glad to know you’re doing better and taking it slow! Thanks & much appreciation for the blessings.🙏
Cars made of metal can they be cleaned same ways 😅 ?
That is a very interesting question. I would like to think so, but I am not sure if the part of the vehicle in question is going to be removed and placed into the vinegar and water.
Wow ❤🎉 great job 👏 congrats 🎉❤
Thank you so much for posting
How much vinegar do you use to the tub of water?
I only used one gallon of vinegar and I think the tub was an 18 gallon container. It is amazing how strong vinegar is. Vinegar and water are great for cleaning windows also.
Get well soon do videos of relaxing 😎😎
That is a great suggestion...must think about that. Thanks!
Thank you for the knowledge.
Thank you for posting and you are welcome. I am such an amateur...lol
Your work is still apreciated okk get well soon
That is a very kind thing for you to say...means a lot. Thanks for the well-wishes!
