Big Birtha (I didn't name her), was 29.2 lbs I believe, and no, I used SUPER light shoulder hold, and had a 12 gram trigger, it's benchrest side is so friggin' smooth, and it possibly shot the smallest group in world history, at 0.0005 inches for 3 shots at 100 yds, (verified by WR holder, Michael Stinnett and qualified judge) but not in competition, and it was indoors. I sold it back to original owner, as I hit a 700 yds headshot in 8th and final week of 3rd and last season in Sniper League in 2019, and I retired. I came out 6 weeks or so again when I was invited to do ELRS Pro/Am competition!

to my knowledge, no. All 30BR loads used for flatbottom bullets need to be handloaded within 24 hrs of competition, as they are loaded beyond 100%, and are pushed down. More than 24 hrs and that bullet will rise in neck with standard 2mm neck tension. 4mm neck tension with a +100% powder load will definitely cause massive over pressure!!!

Steyr doesn't make ANY SSG in 6.5 Creedmoor, however they HAVE made exactly 1 FACTORY SSG 08 and recently, exactly 1 FACTORY SSG Carbon in 6.5 Creedmoor.... and they were shooting side-by-side on Sunday at Sniper League at Fossil Pointe and practicing there on Saturday. *Nice to meet someone who knows their Steyrs!!!

Yeah, kinda too late for that once I finished posting this. But when I'm zero-ing it's not a pretty grouping, it's a 2 moa soup. The BEST this Savage ever grouped was 0.83 MOA with box ammo..This was my first long gun, and first purchased scope. I started reloading after Steyr Austria made me the world's only Factory chambered in 6.5, Creedmoor, my SSG 08. Steyr NA also made me the world's only factory chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor the SSG Carbon. Scott Irwin, Steyr NA can verify this with you. Both have shot indoors 100 yds better than a 0.099" 3 shot grouping, all 3 of my Steyr 6.5 Creedmoors have been put on the Triple C 1-mile 40" by 40" steel target, 1 on a cold-bore shot. Type in Fox Schaffer 8 straight for me shooting SSG 08 in Sniper League competition, then type in Fox Schaffer 700 yds headshot for me ending my Sniper League competition with the SSG Carbon. Ps my brother-in-law's brother, Seth, was shooting my SSG 08, he also got a hostage taker hit, albeit a liver shot. Wind was swirling at 26 mph. Even though I got the headshot, I did NOT get the T-Box I really wanted to hit, just keeping it real, with an HT IRL, you NEED to hit the T-Box to guarantee the safety of the hostage. My other Steyr was the Steyr THB in 6.5 Creedmoor that I later had my gunsmith put in my Steyr SSG 04 that I originally purchased in Winchester .308 for my 2nd season in Sniper League. As soon as everyone heard I was shooting in lower Sniper League "Spec Class" (whereby everyone must shoot .308 Federal 170 gr. Gold Medal Match ammo, bought from Fossil Creek's store) they all chose to reload their .308s and compete in "Open Class" instead of compete against me. 😅 So as soon as they did this, I shot 2 of 10 engagements (its a drop 2 season of 3 seasons per year), then switched back to Open League to shoot one of my Steyrs with Seth, but always bringing my .308 just in case. One person thought he'd steal the Class win and decided to compete in .308 one weekend, so I dropped Open and competed with him 😅 he didn't have his reloaded ammo, as he didn't think I had both set-ups. It was embarrassing, with box ammo I still scored 6th best against Open Class. Paid Owner for score to count in both classes. Ended up 4th in Open Championship because 2 hardest Sundays everyone dropped, but I had to keep. Still got Championship in .308 Spec Class though and quickly converted my SSG 04 to another 6.5 Creedmoor albeit NOT a Factory Chambered rifle. It was AFTER I did this that Scott Irwin surprised me by having the SSG Carbon made for me at the NA factory chambered on 6.5 Creedmoor. And even though Steyr Austria and NA have kept their word and have NOT offered the SSG 08 and SSG Carbon chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, you CAN NOW purchase the SSG M1 (SSG 08 on steroids) factory chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, and they stopped offering in 6mm/.243 chambering. Just a little fun history. Ps never hit 1-mile with converted SSG 04, only in original THB configuration.... which most people don't realize is pretty much an improved SSG 69 they used in Viet Nam, albeit, that was chambered in 30.06 I believe.

There's no such thing as a natural zero, if you go get bore sighted, then go shoot in your zero. What a 20 MOA or 30 MOA allows you to do, is to zero at a much higher yardage than traditional 100 yd zero. That way you can max out your elevation for a much longer shot. For example, I had a zero at 100 yards, and max elevation was 75.25 MOA, and I needed 89.002 MOA to hit 1 mile (1,760 yards), so I had to do 4 mil-dot holdover to get there. Had I zeroed at 700 yards instead of 100 yards taking advantage of my 20 MOA rail, I wouldn't have had to use any holdover to hit the mile. Now, if all you have is 100 yards to zero, and you need to zero at a higher elevation, you just need a ballistics chart for your bullet and an MOA target, so if your ballistics show 600 yards is 9 inches, then keep aiming at lowest target and adjusting elevation down until your bullet is 9 inches high, then zero it out there. That's what MOA rails are used for.

Fox Schaffer im aware of what it does and why. what I meant by natural is when the scope is set in the middle of it's adjustment range. my scope has 78 usable moa, so if it is at 39 - the middle - approximately where would that place my zero? I just want to know, for example, if I want a 700 yard zero how much adjustment should I start with to be at least semi close

Brother, I don't know if you have the same scope as me?! I have a Sightmark Triple Duty 6-25x56 with a 2 1/2 in center to center with barrel. Turned all the way out is 4 full turns from 0 plus 11.25 MOA, I believe I have nearly 2 full turns down, so I'm not 100% I did my zero correctly or not?! I simply let Alamo Precision Rifles bore sight it, and went to 407 Gun club to zero for 100 yards.

Bill Youngblood#710 that was Race 12, I'm thinking his throttle may have stuck, you can hear on normal speed video his rpms ramp up right before my first bump. I credit him with minimizing the impact in this situation, he only had about a half second to turn into a glancing impact.

Ford Mustang has amazing traction control algorithms whether rain or dry, I didn't even have "Rain/Snow" mode on lol...lastly, I've been racing one form or another for 30+ years now.

Not sure what a "Hoveround" is lol...I WAS on Pirelli slicks, but track manager decided to fill in cracks around the track with TAR, the night before GAH!!! There were 18 highsides that day as a result, from what I've been told!!!

Sorry, wouldn't let me access to reply from my Gmail Acct., had to find this lol...this is Texas World Speedway, which will no longer be in College Station after June 2015 :( they are tearing it down for development. If you watch my two most recent videos, you'll see a HUGE high side at 87 mph on first race lap in T-2. Apparently the former track mgr the night before, "repaired" cracks with TAR, NOT track sealer because Tar cures in a few hours but boils in less than 150 degrees which the track got to after 11 am on July 27th...the rumor I've heard is that there were 18 EIGHTEEN high sides this same day because of the "tar snakes" :( I don't recall our club having that many high sides on a wet day, let alone a perfect day like it was!!!
