How to remove permanent wrinkles from polyester flag
Mix 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water, spray on flag and iron quickly. It works!

Quick, simple, and to the point; this is what CZcams is supposed to be.
one thing Do not Iron polyester directly it can damage it put a damp towel over it instead it will work like a steamer and protect the fabric *the uniform for the girls in choir at my high school are polyester and that was a point they always put in the instructions to never put the iron directly on to the fabric*
had it on the lowest setting on the iron since I didn't want to risk wrecking the flag. got most of the creases out but not completely. prob needs to be set to higher setting but I did use the water and white vinegar mixture

What setting did you put the iron on?
It’s different for different people. Try low and keep increasing if it doesn’t work. Remember, the solution is one part white vinegar to two parts water, the vinegar is essential. Good luck!
so the heat from the iron doesn’t ruin the polyester? i just got a new flag and i have an iron but i’m scared to use it LOL
You don't actually need vinegar at all for this, it works just as well with normal water. If you're worried about the smell, it's totally chill to just leave it out.
I'm not so good with washing. I have a gay flag which is super creased (came packed up) and could I just stick it in the washing machine and let it try straight (Wait... That's illegal)?
DASimations washing it won't remove the wrinkles. Spray it with vinegar water and iron as shown in the video.

What could I spray on my flag since it smells like vinegar now, great vid tho.
In my experience the smell goes away on its own, but you could run it through the washing machine and hang it to dry. Then iron it on a low setting to get rid of the “regular wrinkles”. That’s what I would do..

Will that work with embroidered flags?
I don’t know. I don’t have any embroidered flags... you could test a small area to see if it works, before you iron the whole thing. Thank you!
Can I do this with a 100% polyester flag. Just received it in the mail and it’s full of creases due to the folding of it. I was told you can’t use an iron on polyester or it will melt. Any info would be helpful. Great video by the way just want to confirm direct ironing of a flag. THANK YOU!!!
If you spray enough of the water/vinegar mixture on to the Flag it will prevent the flag from sticking to the iron, because it’s wet. Iron quickly, though. Maybe use a medium heat, and test a small area first to see if it works. Thanks!

does it work on all flags???
This is an old trick for all stubborn wrinkles, so it will probably work on any material. there are some cheaper flags from eBay made of a more plasticy material that I’ve found singe more easily than the silky type. However, it still works on them - you just have to iron quickly. Maybe put more water on it so it resists the heat better then steams the wrinkles out.
What setting should I put the Iron on?
I use high and it works fine. Just be quick, so it doesn't melt or burn the flag.

you can just pour the vinegar water in the iron if it has a water chamber.
is vinegar optional?
vinegar is necessary. if you use only water then it won't work.
yes. if you use only water, it will stick to the iron.
