Dan’s Story: Overcoming Debilitating Spinal Pain, Reclaiming the Things That Matter
Meet Dan, a Cincinnati native, husband, stepfather, and passionate Taekwondo enthusiast. Dan's journey with UC Health began on October 26, 1991, after a devastating car accident left him in a coma for 18 days, requiring brain surgery and extensive rehabilitation. Despite the odds, Dan's resilience and spirit saw him through a remarkable recovery, showcasing the transformative power of our healthcare professionals. Years later, another car accident introduced a new challenge: excruciating back pain that threatened his active lifestyle. Dan, who has been dedicated to Taekwondo for 29 years, found himself unable to continue the activities he loved. Months of severe pain and numerous medical consultations finally led him to UC Health and the skilled hands of Dr. Rani Nasser at the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute. On November 4, 2022, Dan underwent a 2-hour spinal fusion surgery. Dan's recovery was nothing short of remarkable. With each passing day, he grew stronger, eventually receiving clearance to return to all his activities. Watch as Dan presents Dr. Nasser with a special token of gratitude.

Dr Tew removed my brain tumor in 2006. He is a wonderful surgeon and more importantly a very good man. After the surgery (through no fault on Dr Tews part) I suffered seizures and coded. The good doctor saved my life that day. I went into a coma and was placed into a brain-injury clinic for rehab. Thanks to the University Hospital, Dr. Tew, and may others I eventually resumed my career as an engineer. I will always be grateful for Dr Tew and the Drake Clinic!

Thanks for sharing!!****Jesus Christ is coming back soon and God is calling everyone to repentance (2 Peter 3:9 KJV) *** Prayers for all, message for all: Please Get in the Ark of Jesus Christ now. We all must Repent and be Born Again of the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to see God:: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:3‭-‬7 KJV bible.com/1/jhn.3.3-7.KJV*** Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
