It's not all paved roads and hiking trails. Arches National Park has several miles of dirt roads, too. Willow Spring Road, AKA Willow Flats Road, takes off from the main park road next to Balanced Rock, and heads west to Highway 191. Deep sand and assorted slickrock areas keep you from getting too complacent. Willow Spring Road leads to the turnoff for the road to Eye of the Whale Arch, which i...

i stripped the new design one because heat and brass dont mix, seeing some sort of stainless would be better. i only turned it once in the wrong direction and now have to find a way to get it removed
Thanks for representing SA WITH A BMW
Where is the shop in Maryland? Please provide information.
Currently sitting here with a disabled 2014 JKU Jeep (and no way to get it to a mechanic/shop because of this exact issue. Drained my SC oil -- now there is no way to fill it back up....🤬🤬🤬🤬 What a horrible design!! (I am a Mechanical Engineer, so I have no problem calling out designs that show NO common sense or logic.).
What's with the shit music!? Ruined a nice video man!

I stripped mine also. Nice vid.
Stephen Merritt contact RIpp, they sell a new one . I got an extra one just in case too.
If its brass it doesn't take a lot to tighten.
Is there a trick to actually receiver your Jeep badges? A buddy of mine has been waiting almost a year and hasn’t received them for the Big Bend trails we did last year.
Jason Hoffman not that I know of , just make sure your info is correct and vin# and take photos to submit during check in . And like a month later they show up .
Great video - great fix - great info - We redesigned the Vortech supplied allen-key plug with a 10mm head one - it will not strip.
Do you have a link for this 10mm hex head dip stick? I could not find it on your website.

That's one damn good tech!
Do you have a mapping file for this route?
Mike Bromberg I didn’t record one , but I can send you the route , it wasn’t to difficult .

what's the height up to the top of the roof rack? seeing if the extreme can fit in my garage
Truck Driver 6’8” to the top of rack , I have 35s on this as well so a little over stock . Also you can let some air out of the tires to gain an inch or 2 if needed to get it in .
Dave The Travel Gnome thanks! My garage height is 7’ so this will fit if i remove the awning.
I just did a supercharger rebuild vid, it may help alos qualitysuperchargers on ebay have all parts cheaper than facotry but oem .
Question how can I repair the rod where the dipstick goes in, I stripped it

That’s one good mechanic you have there!
Wife and I had a serious discussion about Expo several months out and we never foresaw the mud but we thought new location and high ticket sales already, I think the event sold out or close too, there would be just the typical chaos and dis-organization normal with a new location and large volume of people. We thought let the organization work out the bugs this year and plan for our return in 2019'. We opted for the week on the Outer Banks of NC (OBX) and absolutely loved it. Already going back for a week in April. Sorry that the event because of weather caused you such problems. We've seen and heard from so many others who also give the same story as yours. The one thing we've already determined after going to Expo in 2017', we hate being sardined so we camp an hour or so off site and commute in every day. Obviously that has disadvantages but I like room to stretch too.
I had to blur some faces as I don’t know who made a complaint . wish I knew who or what it is that do not want their image recorded in a public place so i can blur the appropriate image .
There's no expectation of privacy in a public places....I wouldn't worry about the complainers. Nice rig by the way! What exhaust are you running, sounds good.
Magnaflow Catback
I've run that trail a few times. It's always fun to sneak into the park via a back door! :-)
Dave - thanks for posting this video. Is there a back-way into the park I can do in a stock vehicle with lower clearance than a Jeep i.e. subaru. Not really worried about the park fee lol but more so because I want to be able to do an off-road route.
My family used to go to Henopen every weekend (in the 70s). I sure has changed. you were never allowed to take a vehicle on the beach. And all the old WW2 submarine watch towers were still abandoned. We used to go in them all the time.
Jim Doss this is my favorite place to go to the beach . Love this place , and I don’t have to lug all the toys and chairs , just unload and set up .
I had drivetrain trouble in VA. so I turned back but i was to be a volunteer, luck of the irish I spose.
Also I run 37 mud grappler for just this reason. they work in all conditions.
Hope we can get an event on the east coast that’s GQ
Indeed ill be there if so. we may have met actually RTT for BROG perhaps @@hghsdave
I suppose ExPo will be having to rent fairground facilities. Much more of the Mudded-out piggly-wiggly goo few to anybody will want to attend. Venders won’t be showing either...
Gary, I know a lot of people may not like that but that may be exactly what they have to end up doing. Fairgrounds typically have exhibition buildings for vendors but also the many seminars and talks that people love to attend. Another possible site that has tons of room while being in a somewhat picturesque locale might be Bristol Motor Speedway. The vendors could be set up in the pit area of the dragstrip as well as large tents for talks and seminars. I like the idea of the Asheville area for Expo but something along the lines of what you suggested needs to be explored after the most recent Expo.
Lol ATs. Welcome to the south. We use MTs here.
Daniel Palmer trust me I was kicking myself for not bringing the MT , put the AT on for better gas mileage .
Did you ever get a refund? We were told we would receive one but still nothing
I was told yesterday that I will get it in 3-5 business days . We’re going to try west next year .
Dave The Travel Gnome It’s very unfortunate that it was so poorly organized. We were looking forward to this event
The lady at th tent almost didn't sell us a day pass due to cluster that was their parking. Thankfully my wife had dropped me off. The biggest problem I had is that they were turning away people on Saturday but had posted on their website that day passes would be sold at the gate the entire event. I get it they can't help the weather but the situation wasn't handled well at all. My uncle ended waiting in line for the shuttle over two hours.
Good decision getting out of there for the night. I'll be at the next Expo West in AZ. Come on out!!
A few years ago expo west was mudded out. I still had fun but learned alot. I never leave home without rubber boots now. Even in May in the south west lol.
I’m fishing 🎣 be home later 😂😂 fish on bud
Talk about first world problems. I thought is was a good event. Yea, the rain on Friday was a drag but i got there early when the place opened and got a great spot. Plan ahead. Sure there was a lot of mud but don't you think Overlanders have to deal with it? All part of the adventure!
The mud and the rain was not a problem for us. The one thing I have issue is , they should have emailed/communicated anyone or everyone that "there is no more room here at the expo for camping because of the conditions , please take the next 9 to 10 hours of your travel time down here to make alternate camping arrangements because we are not allowing anyone else in , and we will refund you the camping fee" . We had to drive all the way there to find that out , that is like paying for a plane flight, going through security , boarding the plane , and then they tell you to get of the flight because they overbooked it and good luck finding another flight during Christmas. I am glad everyone that arrived there on Thursday had a great time , you had that option. the rest of us that were DENIED entry or asked to leave and find somewhere else last min were left pretty pissed off because of that fact . The people that were allowed to attend need to get over , it wasn't about the mud , it was not letting us attend because of the mud . the plans we had were to stay onsite and camp, by the time we learned of the situation there it was to late to try to find an alternate . My complaint is THE COMMUNICATION that enables you to alter your plans .
Understandable and agreeable.
We drove 14 hours straight to the gate/campground to be told “no more vehicles” you need to turn around. I can deal with mud and cold, I have the gear.
Went on Sunday and better but still a mess. Just live a few miles away and heard some shuttle horror stories. Where did you end up camping?
Asheville Bear Creek RV Park was the closet thing we could find. we were good with the mud and cold , but they couldnt put us in a spot because they told us there was no room for us at the expo.
The weather is what it is but hopefully next year they will have better organization and we will be able to attempt! Great video!
I got there thursday night and camped. It was a MUDDY MESS, people stuck everywhere. VERY, VERY poor organization. Extremely cramped, etc. I will not attend again. Way to many tickets sold for the space they had, no plans what so ever for bad weather, I felt bad for volunteers , they had no clue. When people got stuck, and there were many, zero help from Overland. Other campers finally jumped in to help if they could.
Sorry about your trip. They did not offer me a day pass refund, they offer me one free ticket for next year. We spent 4 hours waiting on a bus between parking lot and the venue with no luck.... Will not attend next year..... I only live on the other side of the mountain.
Bummer about the trip, looks like the organizers were not very organized. Great video though! I am subscribed to follow along.
sorry you had to go through this, but not having a back up plan etc, organizers really need to do a better job. looked like amateur hour over there.
Please don't call me captain obvious, but the Reeb ranch is no place to be in rainy conditions. I worked there Fri, Sat, and Sunday. On Sunday I got to hand out turd sandwiches (turning people away at the main gate). My training to work that post was a 30 second listing of who cannot enter. The WNC Ag center is 30 minutes away and paved. Better choice, but hindsight is 20/20. The mud was an act of God. The shuttle bus situation was worse. After my shift on Friday, I got on a bus back to the shuttle lot. The driver had just started and didn't know where to go. Don't bus drivers do a dry run before the event. I directed her where to go (I live here), and told her to put the other stops into her gps once we reached an area with cell service. Also, why wouldn't the organizers provide wifi at the event?
Mike Krol I have to admit , you guys did your best with what you were given . I respect that you guys kept your calm with all the crap you were putting up with and handled the situation professionally.
Yeah, that's a bummer. I live about 15 minutes from there and when it started raining I knew it was going to be a mess! I decided not to go just for that reason. I didn't really think that was a great place for that event to begin with...and as you said, reception for cell service is spotty at best. I hate I missed the one at the Biltmore House, I heard that one was pretty good.
Sorry to hear you were not able to get in. Most trucks with trailers had problems in that slick mud, especially Jeeps, they are just not heavy enough and that trailer acts like an anchor. Don't feel bad, same thing happened to me in 2015, heavy rain and no go. I was able to get in this year though. Besides the rain, mud and long lines for the shuttle it was a great event.
James Hitchcock the man !!
