Judging by where it is placed, it could be to help her avoid slipping. Think about it. It's difficult to get hurt in that particular place while tinkling. It's the side of her leg. Not even a toe.

cool nga pre eh, may bagong twist at least innovated. hindi naman nasira ang kultura eh andoon pa rin lahat ng original, nadagdagan lang.
+QL B31212 I only see a desecration of a dance. I would NOT dare it call Tinikling, since Tinikling is more beautiful than this ugly American modern trash for a Miley Cyrus obsessed nation. Just because there are bamboo poles doesn't mean this ugly dance is Tinikling, since so many Asian countries use bamboo poles in their respective native dances. Unlike this ugly American modern dance, those Asian bamboo dances don't use a lowly hiphop music.

well if u say don try this at home...well i already did! i go to this filipino dance class called Kasayahan and we do Banga, Tinikling, Singkil, and many more ! we even do hip hop and singing also Jive! but anyone can join not just Filipinos! and we hav an up coming concert on June 21!

Nice; you have a pretty good feel for Newstyle. One thought from me: this song is a relatively slow, feel good, smooth song. So, I'd say maybe a little bit less of an emphasis on isolations and hitting the boom-kacks and little bit more flow. 0:16-0:20 is my favorite part!

@tylerv99 check out some choreographer vids, namely lyle beniga and other sharp dancers. nice try with the moves but the style gets repetitive. your footwork also seems shaky, not off balance but you could incorporate more hits and miniwaves. missed every snap drum sound. nice positivity tylerv but seriously great job? dude it aint even being a good dancer yourself, just compare it to other intermediate level dancers. sloppy. bad dancers tend to tell other bad dancers they were great.
you did a good job but i just wanna say one thing....you grabbed you hat lid ALOT...but other than that great job man!
woow, your really good :) Im 14, soon 15 years old, im filipino-norwegian, me and my best friend dances tinikling in different events :) it was so cool to learn a filipino folk dance :)
