My wife will go out of her way to avoid this. I think it is totally muddled up. Traffic still backs up on Fillmore almost from Nevada.

I didn't like it at first, but I quickly realized that the usual long lines to get onto Fillmore from the SB I-25 ramp were now a thing of the past. I find that travel in all directions through the interchange is much better now, but then again, the DDI was done in conjunction with the newer, larger bridges. It would have been better no matter which lane arrangements they did. It's kind of like with traffic circles - it'll work great when drivers finally figure out how to use it.

According to the City of Colorado Springs - The new interchange provides a more efficient traffic flow by allowing for continuous transition on and off the highway, increased traffic capacity and reducing the conflict points at intersections. Additionally, larger pedestrian walkways and bike paths will improve safety through the corridor.

I just drove over the finished project. It's even more stupid and confusing than it looks in the video.

Has the simulation taken confused and/or intoxicated drivers mistakenly going against traffic on the right side of the road into account? How long will it take for real-world experience to show this is as bad an idea as left-hand freeway exits?
