This is my go-to style. So easy and so flattering.

My hair was getting ratty, even before i got breast cancer diagnosed, so ive been well stocked for awhile. Post chemo, im more likely to wear a pretied one around the house, when youre trashed, the last thing you want to to is spend 15 minutes putting it on. I just want something to keep my head warm. But when im out of the house, im scarfed up. I wear a modified tichel style with a long veil in the back. I use thick elastic ponytail bands instead of tying a knot, less bulky, easier on fabric and on you, adjustable, stays put. Since i dont have much hair anymore, instead of having a bun to anchor a scarf, i use elastic tape, in colors and with a strip of silicone on one side. Available on Amazon in 3ft strips. I size it to my head and zigzag stitch. I place that over my underscarf and tuck about 2inches or so of chiffon, etc. underneath the elastic and work my way down either side of my head to behind the ears. Tie off as usual. That scarf is not going anywhere, even in a high wind!

This was really helpful, Miss Jessica. I like that tivi more every time I see it. I just don't care for the button closure. Right now, I use a velcro fastened one and I really like it. This is so helpful! I experience frequent injuries in my wrist on my dominant side, luckily I haven't had one since starting to wrap a few months ago, but I'm saving this for when I inevitably need it.

I have Post Polio Syndrome, as a result of childhood polio, and using my right arm is very difficult. For years I've struggled with tying my tichels, but now your wonderful video has made it so much easier for me. Thank you Jessica for thinking of those of us who don't have full mobility.

Couple things… Making a square knot, as you demonstrated above, seems a bit harsh on the beading. Don’t you think the tension and crushing of the delicate beading will ultimately cause beads to become loose and/or crushed? Second, what about trying the technique where only one corner is manipulated to wear it as one would a rectangular scarf? (See: czcams.com/video/J4SUjq-zsPk/video.html for a demonstration of what I’m referring to, except the “twist” wouldn’t necessarily need to be done. 😊) Do you believe the outcome would better display the beading? The tichel is beautiful, but what makes it unique isn’t really visible. I’d love to know of a style to wear it to safely protect its greatest asset, all as the asset is fully displayed. Ideas? 😃
