According to the latest scientific research, people with a tendency to display narcissistic personality disorder have a significant reduction of grey matter volume in areas of the brain related to empathy and a significant increase in activity on baseline images in brain regions associated with self-directed and self-absorbed thinking.
So, let’s for a minute look at glow sticks and how pretty they look, then let’s imagine that I set fire to the glow sticks, and this represents the self-absorbed thinking region of a narcissists brain. You see what I am getting at here, it’s all about them, it’s always about them. You see how attracted your eyes become towards the lit glow sticks, that is what narcissism is, it’s an attraction to the narcissist that you simply cannot ignore.
Let’s say you’re in a crowded room full of people, you will find that every narcissist dominates the conversation, and their stories are always over the top, outrageous and always about them. They will steal all the oxygen in the room and extinguish all other people conversations and refocus them back onto themselves, just like this flame being extinguished on this glow stick which represents what it feels like to be around a narcissistic person by the lack of oxygen in the room. Every narcissistic person wants to steal the limelight and they are seeking out their next victim as their eyes gaze around the room for that new grade A supply, that new shiny toy.
Let’s just say that you strike up a conversation with a narcissist, they may end up future faking you by saying things like “I will give you this or give you that if you do this for me” They always dangle a carrot on the stick somewhere in the future, that is always unattainable, no matter how high you jump, or how much effort you expend on the narcissist it will never be enough in their eyes.
Narcissists are attracted to only 2 types of people, The first being extremely wealthy and famous people of which they can try to extract their wealth or use their fame to their advantage. The other type of person they are attracted to is very empathic persons, or empaths for short, these types of people can be easily manipulated, can be seen as weak or vulnerable which is a perfect combination for a narcissistic trauma bonding process to occur. This trauma bonding process happens to connect the narcissist with the victim for life.
If you have ever been in a relationship with a narcissist then you will quickly discover that you’re not the only person in that relationship. Narcissists tend to be highly sociable and groom many victims at once and they have the potential to date multiple people at the same time and certainly cheating on their partners is a must for all narcissists as this gives them multiple sources of supply to feed their egos. If they are ever caught cheating then get prepared for the narcissistic blame shift to occur, along with significant gaslighting. They will blame you for their cheating ways and they will deny it ever happened, then turn it around on you and make it sound like you are the problem.
