The driver isn’t giving the software a chance to figure out the situation. Keep on the power and it will work out which wheels to brake and which ones to keep spinning. It goes against how you’d drive old school 4x4s, but it’s impressive how it works and pulls you out.
Thanks we will give that a try the next time we go out
Hey man I know this videos a bit old but I was wondering what road do you turn onto oregan track from? Cheers
Binns road will get on to orogan rd there is a gate but im not sure if its closed or not
@@BushAdventuresAustralia okay cool thanks heaps 👍
Sounds like a Toyota
Sort of does
What were your observations? Was there a noticeable difference between the two? Also, I felt like the Defender did not raise their air suspension?
They both did very well i did notice the defenders air suspension looked like it was not raised it was set to auto so im not sure. I think next time we go out we will play around with the functions and figure out whats best.
Nice music Jam - and good to hear bit of the other guy's silly banter coming through too. Did you get Richrd's drone footage or was that yours?
Thanks the Drone footage was all mine
How do you get to the oregan track I can’t find it on the maps
These coordinates will help 38°40'07.1"S 143°34'35.8"E its a little tricky to find and it does have a gate so im unsure if its closed or not.
capable for a stock rig
Sure is
We must remember the landy is 20 or 30 years older than those hilux's.
Thats true
Good to see more commentary. Also nice that the golden disco was not the main focus. I do believe I saw a stretcher tent in the background. I believe more attention and detail should be given to this brilliant invention
Hahaha well said
I think there are 3 points to be made here. 1. Jamieson has suffered a significant trauma. This is best illustrated in the last scene wherein his Jeep can be seen being towed out of a rut. Previous BAA propoganda videos have always hidden these facts - so we know that Jamieson was not well when he left that part in. OR, perhaps now that he now has his own vehicle he has managed to escape the tyrannical grip of his father who would relentlessy force Jam into editing the Golden Disco in a favourable light. If so, could this signal the end of Chairman Agg's dictatorial reign? 2. Very interesting to see the diffierence in the camera angles (and noise) as Jam climbed the rock step-up. 3. Neither camera angle does justice to the effort. Dave and I were talking about it again in the high country this week Jam - you did that quite impressibvely, kept your cool - and control of the car. Well done!
In which mode are you what tires
I think the mode was Mud Ruts and tyres we had on back then BFG Kos but now it has BFG Ko2s
2004 dont have straight bumper or chrome grill. It looks more like a 2005.
Correct it's a 2005 model but made in September 2004 and released in December it's complicated it took me a while to find out. That's why I called it a 2004.
What happened to the lux ? Cool video👍
Im not 100 percent sure but under the drivers side door got hit badly and i think one of the control arms got bent.
@@BushAdventuresAustralia buggga that’s ashame
Nice place 🎉🎉🎉one day will come there
Hopefully you will one day
Weekend Warriors
Yep
I’m which mode are you what’s tires
Mud Ruts mode tyres road tyres but it's been running Bfg ko2s for the last 3 years
Use a spotter to get the best line
Correct im sometimes the spotter but that was a tricky whole to get out of
4x4xfar! 👍
Thanx
Pure indulgence!
Rover see, Rover do!
Ta very mucha.
No worries
Who needs mud to enjoy the great outdoors!?
True sometimes it can be fun without mud but I still enjoy a good muddy track.
Very impressive
It is back then the tyres weren't even let down
Buy a landcruiser!
With ex-military Defenders, you have the potential to strip the vehicle down to a basic shell by removing the soft top, windows, doors, and folding down the windshield. Civilian Defenders are a solid piece.
That white Toyota looks like the kind of truck an Australian lifeguard would drive.
Thats funny that hilux rolled since that video and he now drives a new hilux
@@BushAdventuresAustralia you'd think he would start driving something safer.
@@marvinthemaniac7698 I know thats what i thought i keep telling him he should just buy a toyota prado much safer car for him to drive.
@@BushAdventuresAustralia isn't the Prado a Land Cruiser?
@@marvinthemaniac7698 Yes they are
Nice video of the rainbow. Hope it can keep up with the rodeo beast
It will easily keep up with the rodeo
Hi Jamieson. Keep up the good work. I’ve enjoyed looking back through most of your vids. Just found a fun few tracks here in Halls Gap this weekend. I have to wait for some videos to come in from family members that came along but would love to share them with you. Cheers Simon from church 👍👍
Thanks Simon im glad you like my videos. Interesting to know there are some tracks in Halls Gap i shall some research and see whats out there.
Thats the trouble vehicles with long bonnets they need spotters.3 common makes with short bonnets are jeep suzuki landrover.
Nice one fellas, I was the bloke that pulled over in the FFR to say g'day. Cheers
Thanks for watching the video it was good to run into another perentie Owner.
Documenting the trip on CZcams is a Great Way to Show Where We Have Been - What We Did - And the Enjoyment of it All - 🤠
Great to hear you commentating more Jam, and I appreciated the screen shots of some of the information signs as well as the track-naming too. Now, and I'm not sure how to put this politely, but the lies need to stop. Until now of course, comrade Frances has had control of your life in the way that all despotic 'leaders' tend to. However, you have reached the age of adulthood and will need to establish your own credabiliy in this world. It's too late for your dad Jam, but there's still time for you. I've spoken to the other trip-participants and they are saddened by the FACT that your dad's tempersome smashing of the car mirror was not highlighted to show the perils of not paying attention when 4wd'ing. Similarly, the FACT that your dad nearly ruined the whole trip with his embarrassing bogging seems to have been omitted - as does the brave rescue by a 16 year old who just got his L-plates. Anyway Jam, the rest of us will be there to shield you from incompo-dad on the next trip, but you'll have to start reflecting the FACTS in your videos too.
Great footage
Thanks
Great video! Would you mind if I ask which wheels are you running? They look very sick and I'd love to get them for my D4. Thanks!
The brand is performance superlite wheels but we have since gone back to the original land rover rims with bfg ko2.
@@BushAdventuresAustralia Nice, thanks a lot!
I remember when i lived up there as a kid me and my dad would go buffalo shooting sometimes because they were coming on to our farm. Good memories.
The Buffalo can be a hassle
Love it down there! I think the Disco is the same colour as mine: Ipanema Sand.
Sure is the same colour and the disco does a fantastic job in the bush.
How do you deal with the cost of parts and the eternal repairs these LDs require
We have had some issues with this car but we have just gotten it repaired when something goes wrong.
Awesome ❤
Thanks and it sure is pretty cool
Sad thing is they are logging down oregan track and the drop in is probably going to disappear like most good tracks in the otways already have
Are they logging down oregan track thats a real shame they cant log it anyway it backs onto the redwoods.
@@BushAdventuresAustralia most of the track follows the pine plantation so bulk of it will be gone we where there just last week and we carnt even get to the drop in
@@jasonthompson2049 I guess your right.
That Rodeo needs a bigger bullbar hahaha
Haha any bigger it would destroy itself
What is the size of tires ?
265 65 r18s
That Land Rover drives beautifully! There on another level.
Thanks my dad drives the disco and it goes well on the tracks.
Hey guys, enjoyed watching the vid. What tyre pressures did you go down to on some of those sandy bits?
I aired them down to about 20 on the disco and that seems to work well.
Yea cool vid, great footage in the dry and snow, looks very steep on one particular track, what tyre pressures did you drop to, much difference in the dry compared to the snow👌👌
Um from what i remember i think we dropped to 25 both font and back and just left them until we got to a servo and pumped them back up. but we now tend to stick to 22/20 psi and we have also bought a Portable Air Compressor.
@@BushAdventuresAustralia cheers for the reply, the compressor and camp boss tyre deflator’s are up coming purchasers, always good to get hints and advice for someone that’s been there done that. Was showing the misses the part where the Hilux needed to use the winch, I commented to her when the Rover got stuck that there’s no way that Rover is getting outta trouble there without help, was great to watch, cheers for your vid. 👌👌
@@guylezius9775 Thanks
nice video. Can I ask where the campsite is at the start of the video (with the small creek)?
Its South East of Bright on Dungey Tk approximately 200m past the intersection with Stoney Tops Tk.
Just love the way you seem to be able to drive yourself out of any situation
Upon viewing video again I note the comments by Bernard. The rodeo did take a lead role over the European show car. Without diff lockers tackled everything and managed to get higher on steep incline before using recovery equipment. Truly great car. I also wonder how the European disco car went in the bog holes that the rodeo tried to tackle. Did it get through? The Australian rodeo was the true performer on this day over the European disco
Yes thats true the rodeo does put on a better show. its just the disco driver who doesn't listen when i tell him the proper way of driving tough tracks.
Great leadership by the Rodeo - really having a crack. I see the tow-vehicle was again heavily reliant on the recovery equipment of the Rodeo. Good to see a snatch-block out - haven't seen that used for a while.
Well the if the disco driver didn't get stuck at the hill first he could have just driven the hill the rodeo always needs to be recovered but without lockers thats why.
Love the rodeo. Legend
The Rodeo does have its good moments but off camera its not always that good.
Great video! What tires on Disco?
bfgoodrich ko2 and they have been a great tyre.
