"Clarity" (Ya Mujalli...) - Poem of Habib Abdullah al-Haddad (Translated)
A poem of Habib 'Abdu Llah b. Tahir al-Haddad, sung by Sayyid Hasan al-Hamid. . . Attached is an attempted translation, also found in the subtitles:
O you who makes the moon clear with light!
Make clear my soiled, troubled heart!
Unto you have I directed my aims -
in matters of import and destiny.
O you who is close to my heart,
yet far from my gaze!
Unto you have I directed my aims -
in matters of import and destiny.
You are well aware of my condition -
O Lord, clear the turbidity!
Forgive the mistakes, my Master!
Overlook the burdens of sin!
Cause my heart to thrive, O Generous One -
that we may trace the best of footsteps:
the path of the Immense Prophet,
and his esteemed companions.
Give victory to the religion, for indeed...
it is, in this age, in peril!
They wish to extinguish it's light,
how wretched is that which the disbelievers do!
Pull away from us our worries and trials,
remove from us evil and harm,
make all those in the gathering righteous,
for this age is one of decline.
Spread justice in our lands,
and guidance amongst mankind,
raise from us oppression and corruption,
and cause to descend rain and succor!
May prayers be upon the Messenger,
he who illumined the earth with surahs,
as many times as a fasting person may have fasted,
and as much as rain flows from the clouds...
Send prayers upon his noble family,
and his esteemed companions,
as many times as the worshiper stands...
...in prayer, at the time of dawn!
