On May 20 I biked from Manhattan to Bear Mountain State Park via the Palisades. 55 miles total. Took me seven and a half hours. Took the MNR train back from Peekskill. Fun ride.

Long Island Snow Squalls, May 9th 2020

Today there were snow squalls in Miller Place, Suffolk County, NY. The air temperature was 45 degrees F so it sounds like snow is unlikely, but the mid and upper levels were at record cold levels, e.g. it was 12 degrees F at the 850 mb level.
Visiting the Adirondacks and Northern Greens (Feb 2020)
zhlédnutí 87Před 4 lety
Around Valentines 2020, I visited far upstate NY and Northern Vermont. In the first part of the video we are hiking Algonquin peak and the temperature is around -23C (-10F) near the summit, but with 15-25 mph winds it feels much colder than that! The next morning, we are measuring temperature in Elizabethtown NY and it is around -25C (-13F) with calm winds. Later in the same afternoon we take t...
Cold Week in Yellowknife (full version)
zhlédnutí 744Před 4 lety
Last week (10-15 January of 2020) I visited Yellowknife for the second time in two years. This time I mostly walked around in the scenic areas and trails. The weather was the coldest in a long time, at times well below -40 degrees (which is the same in Fahrenheit and Celsius) WITHOUT the windchill factor. The last time there was a seven-day period this cold was the week of New Years' 2009. My t...

Full version here (czcams.com/video/W8jSBRSn6eE/video.html). This is another video from my January 2020 Yellowknife series. Basically, from 11 to 14 January 2020 I walked (about 55km total) around Yellowknife and surrounding areas when it was between -30 and -40 degrees F (-35 and -40 C). At this time Yellowknife was experiencing its coldest week in eleven years. Pipes were freezing and some tr...

Chicago 2019 Arctic Blast (Extended Version)

I walked around in Chicago on January 30-31, 2019 taking these videos. The temperature is between -10 and -20 degrees F in all portions of this video, although the high wind definitely made it feel colder at times (almost lost some fingers getting these video clips). Beautiful weather, to say the least!

Ice Fog and the Great Slave Lake

The first part of this video was taken on the morning of 17 January 2019. The winds were calm and the temperature was around -37C, causing ice fog to develop over the Great Slave Lake near Yellowknife! In the second part of the video (starting around 1:09) it is the afternoon of 18 January 2019. There, it is -31C and we are at the top of the monument in Old Town Yellowknife.

I grew up there. I miss the weather.
Would love to go there.
I want to as well someday, at least in the summer. I might combine it possibly with a future trip to Alberta I want to take.
Wow, -42 I can't imagine 🥶 I'm in Vancouver and -5 is way too cold for me. But wow, Yellowknife looks stunningly beautiful at any time of year.
Friend begging me to leave san diego ...n visit in december...these videos aint helping
Lovely
I have to deal with this weather every winter
Winter and his cold weather's are my really personal ennemies Pride to hate, thrash and spit on this doom season Watta nitemare clip but also watta courage u film this at -42
After seeing this, I will never complain about the cold again.
What is that green building that can be seen at 9:38-9:42? I see it in many pictures and footage of Yellowknife. Is it a private dwelling or business?
I went there during the -40 and rented a car (truck) . The rental company said do not turn off the vehicle during my stay and I was like what about when I an at my hotel sleeping? They said just let it run - nobody is going to steal it. That is what I did.
And what happened after?
the car engine cant turn off otherwise...
I could really use that weather right now, it’s supposed to be 85-88°F highs every day with dew points in the 60s and 70s every day for the next week. Even if it was -40 I would still take that over my current weather.
I remember this it was awesome.
I have many questions. What’s this thermometer called? Where can I get this thermometer? How much does it cost? Can you change the reading to fahrenheit? Is it accurate? Is it waterproof?
Thank you for showing an actual thermometer instead of your phone because my acurite tube thermometer which was tested for accuracy in ice water, (it read 0°C like it should), said 16°F while my device showed 27°F. That’s right, it was 11 degrees off. It also read 76°F while my thermostat also showed 76°F. But it’s a $2 thermometer so I’m not completely sure if it’s correct.
Bikini weather ☺️☺️
merci!
Thank you for inviting. I can visit there in summer 😉
1:12 the sun looks massive!
Not very nice, but I suppose if you can handle this for over 100 days a year you could live anywhere.
I went there a couple of times on business. Let me say that when you go there on business, you don't plan for -40 degrees. The first time I went, I wore just a T-shirt. No long-sleeve shirt and no jacket of any kind. I learned my lesson and so the next time I went I prepared accordingly. It was funny the second time I went. The guy at the airport was talking about some idiot who showed up the year before wearing nothing but a T-shirt. I smiled and said that that was me. I must have become a legend that they talk about around their campfires. I wonder if the stories are still being told after 10 years...I should go back for a visit - my adoring fans might miss me.
Ain’t no legend here bud
A true legend would show up every year in just a t-shirt
@@alltehstuffs - Care to sponsor me? I'm willing (I need to get a new lamp, anyway - I bought one up there but it was destroyed in a fire. I've still got the gold mine core sample I bought).
Just curious, why would you do that? Do you not own a map? If not, I'll let you in on a little secret, it's really really far north.
You didn’t think going to the North of Canada would be cold and you’re in paid employment?

The climate change that the GOP think isn't real.
Nice capture of an uncommon event for New York. Seems like a lot of rain as well.
Am i the only latino who would love to live here 😂😂😂🤣
Wow...what does -42C feel like? Needles? Looks amazing. I'll have to go one day
pretty cold
Gosh, you deserve more views! Crazy tho that the mountain is almost 3500m and still on average warmer than most of Canada, Russia or Northern U.S/Alasaka
You should do this in the Yukon, gets to -50C most years -43C today and its march.
Beautiful scenery, will have to add Yellowknife to the list now!
Where did you buy your thermometer
I liked the part where the duck started attacking you
Time to fine and jail the global warming clowns
1:28 looks like a scene from the day after tomorrow.. amazing. I wish I could be there
Day after tomorrow is just a science fiction movie like the movie 2012 for promoting the libtard agendas. Both California and the east of the USA having record low temperatures in the spring of 2019 is not a sign of global warming as the libtards drivel about. It's global cooling because no place else is getting hotter than last year.
