Between November and January, my friend Nadia and I travelled to South America. Besides the booked flights and the mainstream attractions on our minds, the traveling turned out to be spontaneous. For instance in La Paz, we met a young german couple and decided to continue our adventure as a group for the following month. After all our journey to South America and the memories we made will remai...
Well done guys. Wow such a long trip being so small to nature and the huge boats. Merry Xmas

Way to Go!
Tolles Abenteuer mitten in Europa!
Siete mitici 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hey there! Truly inspiring! I would love to ask you a bunch of questions regarding the technical aspects of the trip! Is there any email or telephone number i could reach you?
Just write your questions at this place, so the others can see, if they have the same :-)
@@zitronechueche Dear Adi! Would love to know how many portages there are in the route from Basel on... and how many dams or other structures we need to avoid when navigating. If there are how did you sort them out? Can you do them all on foot, with a wheeled cart Or there’s some that require other means of transportation???
Awsome video and great project Adi ! Like Gianni, I would love to have some information too on the portages / dams you had to cross ! All the best !
@@arnaudschriber7516 Also i live in Basel and it Is forbidden to kayak after the last bridge... so you need a special permit to navigate onwards?
Hey @AdiRüesch Any info we could gather from you?
Schöne Leistung
Oida geil!
Luzern Nadelwehr, Emmen, Perlen, Bremgarten, Windisch, Beznau, Klingnau, Leibstadt, Laufenburg, Säckingen, Rhyburg, Rheinfelden, Augst, Basel....
Super typen, super Projekt!

Great video mate!!! I'm planing to do it solo! Have you stumble across solo backpackers?Could you do it solo,if you were in that position? That climb was sick!! Have you done it before, have you had an experience?
Looks like you guys had an amazing trip! I´m going to South America after the summer and is wondering a couple of things. How did you guys deal with the "Proof of onward travel" that I have read that some countries require for entry? What was the biggest highlights of the trip, your best recommendations, and also: anything that disappointed you that I should skip? and the last one...what company did you use for your Uyuni tour? Really hope that you could answer my questions!
Viktor Ankarberg, hey :) we are from europe and never needed a visa. For example when you cross a border with a bus, like we did it all the time by bus, you will get in the bus some letters. You never have to pay for a visa oder wait a long time, it's very easy. It's hard to say which of them had been the highlight, maybe huayna potosi or the horse riding in chile. We had never been realy disappointed by sthg. Was such a good time :) I can't remember the name but when you will arrive in uyuni you will see a lot of companys there and you don't need to do a reservatiom befor. wish you a good time and best regards, adi
Kann ich dich auf instagram kontaktieren?

Nice trip! How much money u spent for all trip??
thanks, include the flights from switzerland to Lima and back something between 2500 and 3000 Euros.
nice video dude
Hey Adi, I really enjoyed your video! I also planned backpacking in Latin America, but I am doubting which country to go. So my question: "Which country impressed you the most (Culture and Landscape?" Peru, Bolivia Chile Argentina or Brazil. Thank you in advance. Nino from the Netherlands.
Hey Nino! It's hard to say because every country was special in own way, but when I should say one, then would it be Bolivia. the landscape can be so different there, you have high mountains, salar uyuni and a part of amazonas. The Culture is maybe the best, morst impressed in Peru and Bolivia, for me it was the same and the most of these people there don't have much but they are all so happy! best regards Adi
Hey Adi, super jealous of your trip. Where you planing to go to all those places? How did you know about what to do when you got there?
thank you! hard to say, sometimes it we saw when we arrive in a other city ah wow at this place we can go for a horse ride or we looked at the lonely planet what we can do in which city.
How did you planned for the mountain climbing?
Hey Adi, i am thinking about doing a similar trip.. can you tell my how you travelled between the different countries? By bus or by plane? Lukas
Hey Lukes, It's much easyer than you think. Every city I have been in South America, including the small ones like Santa Maria (Peru) or San Pedro de Atacama (Chile), has a busterminal (allway one and not more, so you don't have to decide which is the best one) who have a lot of diffrent bus-companys. So you go there and have the choice to decide with witch company you will. So you can negotiate the price and you don't need a reservation, just go to the terminal. So i took only one time a plane, from Salta to Iguazu
Hey Adi, thanks for your reply! And it is no problem to get a bus even from one country to another? Can you say how much it approximately costs for a longer international bus drive? For example from Bogota to Quito?
This is no problem, i crossed boarders for 3 times, you get always some papers in the bus to fill out for the boarder, so you don't need to wait a long time. I have never paied more than 20 dollars and my longest bus ride was 16 hours.
Perfect.. thank you! now there isn't a lot left holding me back to do it.. I hope it will turn out as great as it looks in your video! :-)
congrats, amazing!
This is rad 👌🏼🤘🏼
