I remember first getting into this song back in 2015 but several years later taking inspiration from this song was thanks to not only Rachel Platten's original version but also from how Caly did this song too and with how she deems it as a fight song for not just her but for literally anyone getting themselves through challenging times! No matter if you were getting out of physical and/or mental challenges no matter the case, Fight Song has been a Huge Game Changer that can really make a heart open, and I personally also find it a song worthy for making life better as it's also helped me get myself out of miseries. And for Caly, it's so Amazing how she was able to not only survive cancers but also to pursue her life towards singing and she sure has a lot of spirit for singing and she's got an AMAZING voice! Her performances on Fight Song are Just As Amazing as Rachel Platten's performances!

What’s really powerful about this is the timing of it all. Simon had just lost his mother earlier that week and the song struck a nerve with him because it was so real to him in that moment. A good friend of mine committed suicide a few months ago and I’m still in so much pain over it, and that’s who I always think of whenever I watch this video. I’m almost certain that almost everyone watching this has that one person they’re thinking of, and that’s why the performance is so powerful to me. Because everyone experiences grief and contrary to popular belief it DOESN’T ever get any easier, but that’s only because the person mattered enough to you that the fact that they’re gone will affect you for the rest of your life. To quote one of my favorite comic book characters, what is grief if not love persevering?
