Maybe it’s just me but they should have ended the movie here and save the rest for a second movie like they did with Mockingjay. I loved the movie but it was way too long for me. I would have enjoyed 2 seperated movies better.
this movie sucked. only children could have liked this. nothing made sense. she was so unnatural. with katniss you could feel the sense of loss, desperation and confusion. how she had to learn to charm people to like her, how she trained to survive. lucy was simply a star from the beginning, she literally did NOTHING in the arena aside from fucking singing all the time and still she survived because snow did all the job. she is one of those poorly written self made female characters. i am happy this flopped. truly embarrassing and an insult to people who grew with hunger games.

The singing was perfect and the whole point of Lucy was that she was a performer a part of a hunt and katniss was a hunter forced to be a performer. Lucy’s game was supposed to be different from katniss in many ways but also similar. It developed snows character and his motivation and reaction in the hunger games movies and why he did what he did in the Katniss movies.
It didn't flop though. It was actually a success for Lionsgate, grossing $338 million against a budget of only $100 million. Also, we all know damn well that if Suzanne wrote Lucy just like Katniss instead of her being her own person, people like you would then be complaining about how Lucy is just a Katniss copycat. Like the other commentor said, Lucy is supposed to be different from Katniss because she is a performer being forced to fight while Katniss was a fighter being forced to perform

The Peacekeepers didn’t go to tend for Arachne or call in for medical treatment like anyone in their position would in real life. What does that tell us?
“Scar Tissue. There is no comfort, you just chose your burden” Phrase would probably be perfect for a military, with a proper moral conscious, that had to deal with enemies that happen to be child soldiers.
Having read real affidavits from soldiers that have gone through that I find mobius reaction too be wholly unrealistic and extreamly inhuman. You dont get scar tissue from that. You get an open ulcer that doesnt close.
That fact that there has to be child soldiers means that the military is in the complete wrong being where they are. You don't use children unless that's all that you have left fighting with trying to prevent being conquered or obliterated.
when I read the book way back when I remember actually shouting out loud about that happening. I just thought, what...kill a mentor, thats crazy. this was a very good but flawed movie, but I hope there is one more at least in suzanne, a little closer to Katnises time line.

This whole movie reminds me of when Gale told Katniss "If nobody watches, then they dont have their games." Suzanne Collins did such a great job of writing the prequel.

I love the detail Tom Blyth put in of ducking his head behind Lilly Cooper. At first glance, it looks like Coriolanus is trying to sheid Aranche but nah. He calculated that, in the position he was in, the most vulnerable part of his body was his head so he was actually using her as a sheild. That is just so perfectly Coriolanus and Tom doing that was genius.

It's called "The Old Therebefore" but unfortunately they don't have a studio version of it out yet so you'll still hear Snow and Festus talking over it about how the snakes aren't attacking Lucy. I know they have a studio version though since I've seen a short clip of Rachel recording it but I don't know why they won't release it yet

I actually laughed evilly
Saw this with my grandma even though I hadn't seen the other movies or read the books. She just asked if I wanted to go to the movies with her to see it. I remembered seeing that gorgeous dress and I thought "Sure, why not?" I came there for quality time and seeing that dress again, I didn't expect myself to nearly shed tears when watching this. Her voice is beautiful. Remember when she screamed "YOU CAN KISS MY ASS" when she was placed? Yeah, those god awful monsters at the Capital can kiss mine too >:[
