This is awesome compared to todays F1 which is totally ruined. I want the sounds back, ok, I might not have it but - I want refueling back, two or three different tyre suppliers, exploding engines sometimes and punctures sometimes. I guess I want more freedom for the teams. And I want the children out of there and replaced by good looking young women once again, And I want Kyalami and Argentina back. Come on!!!

Yes, they were. Especially in 2002, 2004 and 2005 the camera angles and positions were really good. Yep.. back then you could really feel the speed. Today is only zoom and too heavy cars. Was a great time when this was live on tv..
what speed did they drive in these battle? I tried to find a video where also speed is shown, but there are none with speedmeter.
Around 350-360 kmh. Of course it also depended on how much wings they had. In 2004 the wind was also a bit stronger. In 2003 the max top-speed in pre-qualifying was around 355 kmh even without slipstream. So up to 365 with less wings in the slipstream would be possible.

Whenever I hear about f1, the only image that shows up in my mind is the first race I went to, the usgp2004 and the two Ferraris and the Renault screaming by. Best race ever.
