    I see you had a bridge made up for that guitar. Looks like the luthier moved it forward to get the inotation right and had to widen the bridge a little to cover the original spot it was in .. whoever did it did a nice job .. I'm a luthier as you probably figured out. Lol Nice lesson

  • @Jackson15157
    @Jackson15157 Před 10 měsíci

    Your breakdown of this solo is the clearest and most accessible that I have seen. I’ve worked on it a couple of times with limited success. It’s challenging. Because this solo doesn’t really incorporate the melody, the individual chunks can lose their context when they are played separately. Your method, showing the next chunk, then going back and playing the whole thing from the beginning up to that point is super helpful. Thank you for doing this. And I agree it’s one of his best solos!

    If G minor pentatonic holds the F note- then why do you skip it in your first position? I know you start at the root note, but why skip over that "first" note?

    • @JamesScottGuitar
      @JamesScottGuitar Před rokem

      Remember, pentatonic scale fingerings are just that, “scale fingerings.” So when you play in a certain position you can choose whether or not to start with whatever note. In this case, G minor pentatonic starts with G. And the pattern at the 3rd fret has G as it’s starting note. If you were at the 1st fret then the starting note for that fingering is F. Scale fingerings just give the recommended fingers to use for any given position you play a scale.
