It is remarkable how this truth show how excessively sinful and dead I was. I understand more how we will praise him in heaven. I understand more about my sinful nature and how that nothing is good of my old self. God is greater than we understand. Our minds is from the dirt from a fallen Adam. I guess we can say from the dirt he rose us up from Adam.

It's total heresy.
I have thought about Calvinism and I don't see it as taught by Paul. Calvinists made God into a semi-potent God, that He can only give grace to a few but not all. If Calvinists believe God is all sovereign and all merciful, wouldn't God give grace to all men to be saved? But it seems like Calvinists are the ones who restrict God's grace to save all people. But again and again scripture tells us that God so loves the world (not limited to the elect) and whoever (includes everyone) BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. There is no Limited Atonement in John 3:16 and there is no indication that God gives His grace according to whom He chose.
Yep Calvinism is more or less a heresy that has God in a matchbox Remember the absence at a time of mercy and grace does not quantify an absence of love that's where they all go wrong. One only has to read the story and the history of Israel. 19:01

How about Luke 18? Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”... Jesus did not say no way you did... According to Paul, you're totally depraved and incapable of attaining eternal life as mentioned in Luke 10... To a similar question where Jesus says “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.” Luke 10:28 I mean seriously how can anyone love God with all their heart without God's help... It's never an option to do God's will without God's help. 🙄

Understand the will. It is God given at birth. This nullifies inability. When we choose to follow God, we are Not contributing anything to our salvation unless you wish to think that you originated your own will. No, you used your God given will the way it was intended

True it's a very sad case of the likes of him and the late RC Sproul. As two of the main preachers of Calvinism they both seem quite incapable of being accepted and loved for some reason. It's like they intellectualize the scripture to be exclusive because of unforgiveness and need to get someone back for some reason and therefore are not seemingly capable of believing love to be impartial. It's sad but disturbing that in their preaching love and the true purpose of the cross barely get a mention😮. I don't judge him but I can't agree with what he preaches and I think it's quite restricting and not healthy for anyone who listens to him as his gospel is not the gospel of Christ.
Many calvinists here are being DECEIVED like I was for 10 years by mcarthur. He can't answer if any of his own family members are chosen . Including his own wife . In fact he has doubts about himself from time to time .

I have assurance because I know my salvation is of God and not by my works or will. I know I am elect because I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.

It's so sad because people go by the tradition of the church they were raised in. If a person would actually get their Bible out and read what it says they would see that everything he said is backed up by scripture. This man is not coming up with this stuff on his own.

Fair enough comment, its just that John doesn't preach love at all and it's not healthy for the people listening. Anyone who preaches any exclusive gospel like this, negates the cross and love, and is blinded into nothing short of a cult. I believe John is saved and loved by God like everyone else but it's just sad he doesn't or cannot believe this for his fellow man.
I don't think John has it right, too many scpritures contradict what he says. It seems a very weak sermon with a few cherry picked verses which can't really be substantiated as to Johns interpretation in the light of other scripture He doesn't make much sense to me.... I mean what does he think happened at the cross? Each to his own I guess

There is a clear verse that tells how God draws. John 12:32 ,Jesus said, when He is lifted up ALL men would be drawn to Him. All men have an opportunity to believe on the Lord Jesus christ. Unfortunately not all will. They have a CHOICE. John seems to take human thoughts, writings and interpretations and use them as divine authority.
Not sure which Bible you're reading the Bible is explicitly clear that all men will choose to believe in the end
I know many people who believe that salvation is a freewill choice. None of them believe that exercising faith is a work on their part. John is putting words in their mouths by suggesting that they are.
