I had never seem this film before and as it was a later film was not quite sure what to expect. Just wonderful, laughed out loud. What a great team they were. Simply the best !

A bit slow and too much boy-girl plot & not enough Laurel & Hardy gags. This 1941 Wartime film was the beginning of the end of the duos’ classic films. The guys were getting older and they were no longer the believable innocents but rather old guys retreating into infantilism.
Loved them all my life and now, aged 87, still do. I was given by my daughter a boxed collection containing 21 c.ds. I watch them regularly (like now!) and always enjoy and appreciate. Kind regards to all L and H fans watching now. England, August, 2023.

I don't know if Stan and Olie did these awful movies just as part of the war effort, but sadly every movie I have seen that they did after 1941 were universally unfunny pale shadows of their previous work. From what I gather they had very little control over the content and production which would explain why these movies were so bad, but I'm convinced Stan and Olie must have known they were substandard. Regretfully their downward spiral continued culminating in the truly awful 1950 movie "Utopia" which effectively ruined their career.
Sargent walks in with gun-powder all over his face.... "Look Ollie, they got us a porter! You can have Thursday's off." I died laughing. It's a million times funnier today.
I watched L&H as a kid in the 60,s and still watch them today ..They were daft as a brush and predictable but that was the beauty of them ,and it's good to escape the mad world we live in today for a while 😁😂👍
I say the boy taxes are paid and the house well stand and burn about the city town state county taxes if the house stands and burn what did we pay or included we're keeping the house thank you

Laural and hardy made some rubbish films during the 40s
Even though the 1940s Laurel & Hardy movies like this one were pretty funny, the movies and shorts from the 20s and 30s were way better.
