For sure it was fun and educational. My head got smack several times too, lol. The tricky part besides not being able to see the damn things while they're in motion is just trying to keep them in motion as you attempt to execute specific strikes. Most examples I've seen online, people were just whipping these things at each other vs utilizing actual techniques out of the flow like we're doing. So great job, man!

@@1stSpear yeah that's what I've seen too. Not people keeping the fight or flow going just kind of like swinging hard and then backing off etc.

I wouldn't know personally. I'm just using my own experience in FMA to free-flow with a Tongan war club. I do the same with other non-FMA weapons.

@@1stSpear Thank you for answering. I have seen Maori in action with the Mere, and their leaner lighter version of the war staff in traditional form, and It's quite impressive (and intimidating). The Tongan weapon is heavier, and blunt ended, so I assume the techniques would follow shape, after all one does not use the same form for a sabre that one would use for a foil.

Thank you. Although Pekiti-Tirsia Kali does have a footwork system distinct from other FMA's, these aren't "styles of footwork" within our system. At the foundation level, the purpose of training different methods of footwork is to develop one's coordination. Eventually there will be footwork drills to teach you how to maneuver effectively. I only showed 3 examples of stepping while performing our abecedario. There are other similar and distinct footwork patterns learned in other forms.

We can try with mechanix gloves? I have a pair, we can give it a shot next time. Yeah, even getting stung by nunchucks is kinda fun. I'd like to do this more too.

@@1stSpear I never realized how much of a decline was happening untill I started searching for them, the modern flippers are cool looking but they have no "soul", mass produced and more of a fidget spinner than knife, a dangerous fidget spinner but barely more than toys. It's sad that the younger generations have lost interest in the art of making a hand crafted beautiful blade. I know I'll be doing my best to get others interested in those traditional blades.
