Also my plan is to walk her thru this path slowly, first I want to analyse with her all the companies of this list a very simple thing: Are they burning cash or generating cash? The idea is to delete all the burning cash companies and keep the generating cash ones... Then we progress to other stuff such as comparing with other companies on the same segment and stuff like that... About multiples, I think she's showing an initial vocation to be more of a quality/growth investor (accepting to pay higher prices for superior quality/growth), while I'm more of a quality/value investor, for me quality is really important but I'm very price disciplined, I'm not paying a higher price, while I think she will have a more flexible view on that. Honestly that can be great, because if she has a different view she will pick different companies which is overall great for diversification

Hi Dann! While I do think there are dominant players in each restaurant category I'm not sure they have >50% market share! That said, Pepsi does look to have about 50% share of the non-alcoholic beverage market although they are no longer a pure beverage company after the Frito-Lay acquisition! Great point! @@TheFoodFund Wow, I hadn't heard. The share price really jumped! I'm reading about the new CEO now. That's interesting he is from Chipotle, and it seems like he did a good job there. A problem today is that a big part of a CEO's job is to increase the stock price in the short term, not necessarily to make the company more successful and profitable for the long term. Hopefully Niccol will help Starbucks in terms of long-term profit, ROIC, fundamentals, etc. Over the long-term, stock price follows business performance. As Forbes said, "Rather than rigidly apply the strategies that worked at the burrito chain to Starbucks, Niccol should identify the core problem impeding Starbucks’ expansion and use his strategic and operational skills to accelerate the coffee chain’s revenue growth."

I get kinda First Watch is to IHOP as Chipotle is to Taco Bell vibes! I plan to look even deeper to better understand their 7AM-2:30PM business model; seems like they are leaving a lot of unused capacity on the table by closing after lunch!
