I just clip things and i have no relation with Connor, but i believe the goal isn't to make money. He wants to do a charity, but he also doesn't want to lose 5 digits of money. That's why sponsors are necessary. Sure he's rich and he can probably lose that much money and still be fine, but why willingly lose 5 digits of money when you know having some sponsors can minimize the loss

If you aren’t in debt and have enough money, you can do more events and make raise even more money simple logic really

A sponsor was gonna cover the cost of the auction, but they backed out. You can check my other clip "CDaegVA's charity auction was almost canceled". As for write-off, he still spent the money, which is tens of thousands of dollar. The sponsors that he got couldn't cover the cost of the event, hence he lost money.

Fly in the creators and fly them back. Thats like $3-4k a person with accomodation. Then rent the Studio. But yea - they could do it for free with a livestream and voicechat only, but that isnt the same

He also raises awareness, which leads to more donations including plasma donations

@honkabazonka I literally do. Part of my job is organizing events and 20k is the most I spend when I have over 100 participants. That's why I don't get the 6 figures expense unless you're using private jet to fly everyone in...

I recon he probably makes the most out of the 3 in revenue but also spends way way more than the other 2 on all the events (mostly for charity so thats a good thing) hes doing. Like what is Garnt spending money on, aside from basic living cost his content costs almost nothing compared to Joey or Connor.

A net loss is still hard to reconcile with. Ideally it would be a net 0 or a small sum of profit.

Ideally he made the money back and the rest of the profit dumped into charity This is the ideal, sustainable model. Real world is anything but. Connor also lose tons doing cyclathon.

The thing about Ludwigs events is that they are loss leaders. So while the event in itself lost money, i don't think it was a net loss for Ludwig (/his companies). These Events are incredibly good marketing for a channel. Especially the ones were a lot of other CZcamsrs are present. This is also why MrBeasts recent CZcamsr challenge did so well.

the diference is connor is not a company, connor can run a big event alone? Probably, but lud has offbrand and other things in the trigger ready, its net loss for him not for the companies..

Isnt the whole point if charity is that you don't earn money? I thought you expect to lose money

​@@sijackex305 not necessarily. Non-profit is the ethical way, but that only means as you don't end it with more money than you started with, you're allowed to come out of it net zero, otherwise how would charities be able to function long term?

I'm pretty sure Ludwig's events since chess boxing have been profitable/negligible losses. I could be wrong since I never watch him live, only the yard and his videos, but I haven't heard him say an event was a loss since.

Ha! Most orgs actually lose money or break even on their events and only generate a "profit" through sponsorships. Events are expensive to produce!!!

You can't say that IMO. They wanted to do the sponsorship, which not anyone does. And then they had unknown circumstances themselves where they had to cancel their sponsorship for the event. Aka, lose money probably.

@@oo0OAO0oo Wdym? Sponsorships means losing money anyway, you do it for the publicty/brand awareness.

Having large, successful events under your belt makes you look more legit for whatever business unrelated to streaming you have going on. Also, you can invite a bunch of currently trending influencers and poach their audience a bit. If you can eat the cost, that's plenty of reasons.

He would have raised way less money if he did it in his room. The Event has to be interesting to attract viewers, more viewer = more donors, more donor = more money. If he was just sitting in his room actioning of Items it would have not been nearly as successful as it was (he has actually done similar stuff, which raised less money)

I think the raffles this year really helped. He has some banger raffles items for the common folk to get a chance at. Monkey merch was nice too

@@TempRawr Yeah the Raffles were a really good idea to get the people who aren't loaded to donate a good chunk of change and still feel like they are particepating in the auction.

The only downside to the raffles were you could enter as many times as you like. So, again, the people with the big $ were at an advantage. You could enter a raffle 250 times and spend $3,750 on one raffle for a higher chance of winning.

i would love alot more items to be raffled. have set ticket caps and one ticket per person or something.

@@m1ssw1z61 I would consider that an advantage. Remember the whole point is to raise the most possible money for charity anything else is secondary. Allowing people who can overspend overspend is good while also still allowing anyone to have the chance to win. Fairness is not really something that should matter in this case imo.
