I think Adam didn't win because he was openly gay. But he achieved what he needed to by being on the show. And both he and Chris had the perfect attitudes.

Back watching the most beautiful voice in the world. Was having a day and his voice is medicine for my soul. He really did break idol for me. Still all these years later. There hasn’t been one season that I have watched all the way through. I have tried watching. I just don’t love it anymore. I wonder sometimes if it’s the judges. The talent they choose. I don’t know. But no one can top this man. ❤

I like the top 5, not necessarily Kris though. Adam is outstanding! The other three have talent too, but Adam is now and the future!🎉😊

It was probably a gift to Adam that he didn’t win the competition that season despite being quite obviously far beyond the talents of all the other competitors. He lost to a singer who was ok, but quite forgettable and quite forgotten. The winner of Idol was bound by more contractual details than me and we :) in the public had any idea about. Including as I hear tell, being under the boot of Idol for exclusivity for a year. So Adam was free to pursue his career - which he has totally done!
