Can you catch walleye around there year round, or are there better times of the year, or times when they aren't there at all?
@@bentilley386 hey thanks for watching ! You can catch walleye here year round....buy you will need to hunt for them. They are a migratory predator. Part of the fun ( for me at least) is finding them. They are never in the same place. Try your favorite spots but be mentally prepared to widen your search, find new structure, island and bank points including wing dams. Stay on the bottom. ...and if you aren't losing gear, you aren't fishing for walleye! 🐟

Ive tried to do the same with multiple drop hooks on my leader but it got tangled every two to three casts.
Thanks for watching! I had the same.issue. I switched to the high low rig and made the hook loops shorter. I go as short as possible to allow the hook loops to go around the hooks. If I tangle,.I know to make the loops a little shorter. Good idea for a tutorial video. Tight lines!

I owned the water wolf years ago. It was the kind that you had to buy the sd card. The strikevu has the sd card sealed in the unit. I was happy with the waterwolf until I snagged and lost it 😢

I saw one fish nip at the tail of the sandworm but went around to bite at the head I wonder if rigging the worm backward on the hook is worth a try?
I noticed that too. Good idea. I'm going to the coast to beat the Portland heat tomorrow. I will try putting the sandworms on backward ..I also noticed the hooks were a bit big for those perch they were size 2. I'm going to switch to size 4. See you on the water !

What bait you use to catch surf perch, and what standard rig setup do you recommend?

For beginners Id recommend Gulp Sandworms As for the rig I prefer the "high low" set up I use 20lb braid with a 15lb leader. Hi. Thanks for watching and for your note. Not much shore fishing for Ling Cod near Seaside you could go north to Astoria and fish off the jetty or south to Rockaway and check out Bar View Jetty.

I just bought a small place in seaside so as soon as I get settle I plan on getting back into fishing and hunting thank you for a wonderful video. Maybe we could meet up sometime

Is that the only beach in Seaside?
Del Rey Beach is just north of Seaside it's a very long Beach and you can drive you car on parts of it decent fishing too

We used to fish sturgeon all the time as a kid. Back than a keeper had to be 42-58 inches for a keeper. Great eating. But apparently they are a pre astoric animal, and can grow to 80+ feet. Obviously you cant bring one of them into the boat. One of the best eating fish, next to halibet.
