If I remember correctly, the V-6 in the VUE was made by Honda. As far as the transmission goes, we owned 3 new Saturns and never had a transmission issue. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My dad bought my uncle one of these back in 1976 blue on white (reverse of the car above) for graduation. The other brother had gotten a 1972 Mach 1 blue on silver, 4 years before for his graduation. All boxes ticked on both cars. At the time dad had '56-66-65 T-Birds (he was going through a phase). Though the 65 was given to him by my grandad on his wedding day. I remember my dad, granddad and I went down to the Ford garage to take delivery on it. And my grandad asked, "where the stripes were?" The dealer told him they were in the back hatch? My grandad said, "those stripes being in the back hatch doesn't do me any good, now does it?" My grandad told the dealer that he wouldn't take delivery of the car unless it was striped. I heard my dad say under his breath, "I'm paying for it." And the dealer shot dad a "look." I took it that dad had ordered it that way? I don't really know. So the dealer said, come back at the end of the day and he'd have the stripes on it. They were old friends. So we left and when we came back it was striped. We then took it to my uncle. I have a picture of the two Mustangs side by side. With the T-Birds ass sticking out as a photobomb in the background. I remember thinking the '76 was sort of a joke sitting beside that big bad Mach 1. Then years later I bought an 1986 GT and realized where the DNA for the platform had come from. (My dad did not buy me the GT. I had to work to get mine. Those days had passed by the time I got there). An interesting side note. Just a few years ago, the FOMOCO contacted my uncle on a decades old, "paint recall" and repainted it new stripes and all. He just recently sold it.

That "tray table" is part of the power fold-down rear seat, which converts into a bed.

Had a 70 Mach I with a 351 Cleveland, then a 73 Mach I with a 351 Q code and then a 74 Grande with a V6. Ford was going through some rough times in the mid 70s.
