regarding Svilar, its not entirely true that DeRossi made the call to replace Rui in goal. from what i remember it was actually Mourinho who dropped Rui for what was his final game at the san siro . after that defeat DeRo actually reinstated Rui for the next 3/4 games and it was only after the 4-2 defeat to inter when the senior players allegedly told DeRo to drop Rui as they felt it was his fault they lost that game (i personally dont blame him for that particular game but it was clear that certain players were looking for a scapegoat) & thats when svilar came back in. i dont think anybody expected him to play as well as he did after that because i for sure cannot recall him being very good in the cup games before then. DeRo got lucky on that occasion

U pple are just dishonest with this narrative that the reason u are most likely missing out on Champions league is because of early season losses to Salernitana & Verona & the likes... doing anything possible to blame Mourinho & absorb your club legend (De Rossi) of any blame. No mention of how De Rossi has won only 1 of the last 7games, or how with the exception of Lazio in the derby he's lost or drop point in games vs every decent team he'a faced in the league (Atlanta, Juve, Napoli, Bologna, Inter, Fiorentina)... his Serie A wins have come against teams battling relagation or mid-table teams he caught on their bad days. I've seen teams start the season poorly, recover & still manage to achieve their objectives for the season, likewise I've seen teams start a season like a house on fire, hit a rough patch, & their season fizzles out thereafter. So the idea that u are missing champions league cos of early season form is quite dishonest. To further rubbish your claim, Bologna who have now qualified for champions league won only 1 of their first 6games of the season, infact they won only 3 of their first 10 games... why didn't they make their poor early season form an excuse for not trying to get champions league too? & to further show how dishonest u guys are, u never acknowledged the reasons for Roma's poor early season form, i.e Matic leaving late in the transfer window, strikers (Azmoun, Lukaku) arriving late, Pinto gambling on crocked Renato Sanches to "strengthen" an already average midfield, losing Ibanez without replacement, Smalling's injury etc... u just want us to believe the poor form is down to Mourinho's tactic, not the mercato that was a total disarray. See, brace up for more heartbreak next season... fact is De Rossi will win games against the bottom feeders like he's done so far, get some decent/lucky wins against the mid-table teams, & he will get hammered a lot by the top teams next season, especially as Juve, Napoli & the like are all going to upgrade their coaches & roster. I don't even want to make this post abt Mourinho, but we've seen this happen at Spurs, & Utd where he was replaced by amateur former club icons. Roma's case is probably going to be worse, cos unlike at Utd & Spurs, Roma is not in a healthy financial state to properly strengthen the team. It's a sad affair all around, that a nice romantic club like Roma got Mourinho at a time in their history when they were dead broke. Man doesn't even need huge warchest , just a few strategic signings, & he would have turned Roma to a proper force domestically & in Europe. Despite the financial constraints, see the miracle he nearly pull off if not for Anthony Taylor.

Roma have lost to Atalanta, Bayer, Bologna, and Inter since DDR took the job. All teams who will be in the CL, 2 league champs. Not exactly Genoa, Salernitana, etc....

Very low chances for CL that don't even depend on the team, so I resigned myself to EL. Now Roma just need to take 6th place and try to win the last matches

I agree that this sitation is frustrating and I believe that we should have done better given the circumstances (we need to make top 4). However, my perception of the team right now is fatigue, I'm not making excuses for the players but they look knackered. It could be an issue of mentality or confidence, whatever it is, they need to sort it out asap. Giving up right now on top 4 would be a shame because we've come a long way from where we were in January. Thanks for sharing your opinions guys, I like your content. keep up the good work.

In relation to Tammy... I'll just start saying football supporters are a funny thing. Most people watch and comment on football their entire lives without ever understanding the game. When you have such an injury with a knee or ankle that rules you out for such length, the brain does funny things with you. Instinctively Tammy's brain will pull him off physicall situations until he gains full confidence he can sustain contact once again. For a striker working in small spaces with physical defenders this will affect his game greatly. The important thing is keeping making good movement and having chances. Goals will come naturally. He's a great player

Kristensen played at RB because DDR could not risk playing Karsdorp. Celik is suspended for the leverkusen game & Kristensen isn't registered in the EL squad so had Karsdorp played v Napoli and something happened to him then we would have been in big trouble v Leverkusen in what will already be a difficult game
