Thanks for the information.
Thank you-
Can you have both OA and RA?
Yes definitely
What are you looking for specifically in an ultrasound and what part of the body is it done on.
Generally most peripheral joints and tendons can be evaluated. Looking for inflammatory findings (effusions, synovial hypertrophy, Doppler uptake, crystal disease, and erosions) structural findings (joint space narrowing, osteophytes, tendon or ligament tears), instability (dynamic scanning, range of motion under ultrasound, stability of joints/ligaments), and comparison to opposite side.
Great Information!. Hope everyone here who might have RA/have RA are able to deal with it early and get treatment using such info. Pray you all have happy and healthy lives
Diagnosed in 2010 Started methotrexte humira enbrel 4 years of chemo non hodgkins retiximab till it affected my heart and now on rinvoque 5336.00 a month but so worth it Love and Prayers to those with it ❣️💛❣️💛🙏🙏🙏💛❣️💛🌹 and 800 mgs 4 times a day and
Boswellia Curcumin of planet ayurveda has worked wonders for my joint pain. It's amazing how natural products can be so effective!
The problem with rhematologists is that they give you a grocery list( super long) of medications to take every day..........and then say you must have your liver function tested every two months ! ! Im not goning to poison myself to supposedly get better......we end up being guinea pigs!
I understand that the difference between PRP and stem cells is that PRP cannot get past the scar tissue but stem cells can . Something you said earlier seemed to confirm this. (It was around 22: on the time line but cannot find it .) Is this the reason you move from using platelets to stem cells ? Does all treatment require starting wwith PRP or can you discern when to start with stem cells and skip the PRP treatment (like when there has been an injury )?
Some injuries/degeneration will do better with bone marrow stem cells upfront. For example, more advanced arthritis or more significant tendon tear. Also if you had prior surgery on a joint, and were considering an orthobiologic treatment, stem cells generally are a better option than PRP because of the prior surgical trauma.
As I said in another of your videos Boron and CFA (Cetylated fatty acid ) -- better than omega 3 . I took it for a while but the quality of it makes a difference but CFA (Celadrin is better).
Nice and succinct. Well done. Though you didn't get to the treatment or regenerative part that is your specialalty. I hope a video on it is coming . I have had most of these checked as my mother had RA and I have kept a close watch. One hand has classic nodules but as you describe wear and tear is responsible. My sport doc thought arthritis but I rarely have pain and when I do it is quickly alleviated with increasing blood flow and circulation with a 100% angora hand/wrist warmer. Also no inflammation on blood tests. However, what I am more concerned about now is knee degeneration from over use, and back and neck trouble from whiplash . I am getting relief from a combo of Boron mineral and Cetylated fatty acid supplement Celadrin (apparently an Arthritis doc in Bestheda Maryland discovered a gene in mice that do not get arthritis and isolated it in a lab and created a version of CMO or a CFA -- it works ) ! (With Mag and Vit D ) This is keeping me upright and on my feet . But still hoping for a regenerative treatment with stems cells! So hoping you do a video on this .
❤❤❤
I m can't scroll mobile with my thumb and feeling difficulty while writing. And also feeling uncomfort and stiffness in thumb and hand joint. But its prominent pain. Is it arthritis?
Could be arthritis or tendinitis. Fairly straight forward evaluation by a physician should be able to differentiate and give you answers.
Sir I have wartenberg sign in pinky slightly addcution do stem cells help this situation please answer sir
You need to first figure out at what level your ulnar nerve is injured and to what degree. Based on that, determining whether platelet lysate could be beneficial can be decided.
Thank you for your reply sir how to find level sir I have no sensory loss no pain no tingling one slight mobility issue sir
If you dont start lifting weights 6 days a week your going to go down hard and fast. Pump up d3 magnesium k2. Lay into the d3 for 3 weeks. 20,000 iu
I have pain in the finger joint pain mainly my first three digits and little in the thumb, not noticeable in pinkies. Pain started about four weeks ago upon waking up. Gets better with movement and massage. Nothing in feet or knees.
If it’s not improving, please get evaluated by a Rheumatologist. If you have difficulty getting in to see a Rheumatologist in a prompt manner, please see the following video: czcams.com/video/GojqJDlH9TE/video.htmlsi=x9i1_usaKTn6VADL
Thank you for making another informative video. For over 30 years I've been dealing with RA, followed by Hashi, Sjodren's, Cushing's and recently Drug - induced Lupus. I've been told that additionally I have OsteoArthritis and Degenerative Bone Disease, Osteoporosis. My DEXA showed a small amount of OsteoPena. Since the RA stopped responding to the meds, the only one that kept me walking was low dose (20 mg) prednisone. None of the RA drugs are safe to take, most are deadly. My Drs all copy each others opinion, that prednisone is to blame . I tried to get Emergortho to give me Stem cell therapy, but was told that I'm too old. Is there an age limit? I'm 63 and determined to get my health back.
Sorry to hear about your challenges. In general there is no age limitation for cell based therapies.
@ChicagoArthritis Thank you for responding. Do you and your center provide this type of stem cells, for patients with autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis? Have they been successful? The fractured vertebrae are feeling better when they have kyphoplasty. Nine out of ten are repaired. Presently, there is a fracture at T5. I'm still looking for a specialist that has the ability and perhaps a method that uses stem cell. Ideally, I want a method that will help my bones and joints to become more dense and strong. Are these possibilities? It would be fantastic, not to have surgery for my knees, hips, hands, fingers, feet and toes.
@simhifree We utilize bone marrow concentrate stem cells and platelet plasma to treat osteoarthritis, tendinitis, and back pain. We do not use it to treat generalized inflammation or osteoporosis.
Thank you
Do eat meat! Be a carnivore! This diet makes you healthy!
Not necessarily true. One size fits all recommendations about nutrition are rarely accurate.
@@ChicagoArthritis Being 5 month on carnivore/ keto and all my issues are nearly solved, for example my gut is healed, my diabetes, my high blood pressure and my knee arthrosis. Watch Drs.Ken Berry, Sean Baker, Bart Kay.
@@PeCo333my has not .knee pain still a 5 out of 10 . Although my anxiety as reduced .5 months on carnivore.
Please don’t take Glucosamine Chondroitin if you have Sickle Cell
Been checked for RA for 2 decades and never had the inflammation markers. My mom has RA. My hands have been crippled since I was in my 40’s. I’m 53 now and the pain in both hands is unbearable constantly and my finger joints are like hard marbles.
I'm seronegative, meaning my blood work rarely shows it. The rheumatologist ordered a hand MRI. That's when they found it. Maybe you are seronegative, too?
Hi, How do you treat knee bursitis and knee swelling due to osteoarthritis?
Great question. We will make a video to address this specific question. In short: 1. Correct biomechanics that might be driving instability and leading to inflammation. 2. Take the correct supplements that can help with pain and inflammation. Mainly glucosamine, omega-3, curcumin. 3. Utilize regenerative medicine treatment options to help treat instability and inflammation. This would include platelet rich plasma as well as bone marrow concentrate stem cell treatment options.
@@ChicagoArthritis what about applying a combination of ice and heat together?
Worth a try. It can help with inflammation and pain short term.
I had the same . It happened after carona, my toes and fingers get stiffness. I use neuro vit B it helps.
I have same problem..can you tell tsblet name
3 blood tests in a week confirmed my ra, had to get fluid drawn from my knee about 600 ml to be precise, we are giving the doctors one more chance since they keep asking for random diagnostics like bone marrow aspiration and biopsy that arent needed at all, its so annoying because they started prednisolone treatment only after we denied the bone marrow aspiration and biopsy

Hello Doc, reaching you from Nigeria. Please i have this pain at the right side of my back that pain me more when i wake from sleep or stay at rest and reduces when i run or walk about. I saw a doctor sometime last 2 months and he prescribed neurovite and diclofenac, which actually subsided the pain totals but it has started again. It doesn't prevent me from doing my activities but surely makes me uncomfortable.

My hands feel like the bones or whatever get stuck sometimes. It's strange to try to explain, but it feels like it is splaying out, and getting stuck. It almost feels like it's going to cramp, but it doesn't. It is random, not always on the same spot or hand. Then it stops after a few seconds.
Same for me. I sometimes feel like the tendons/bones in my hand glide over eachother and just get stuck, and sometimes it becomes a painful cramp that quickly goes away, sometimes it doesn't. When i extend my arm my elbow sometimes feels like it locks itself and it's really painful, it has caused me to drop things because it just suddenly shoots up. I'm 19 so it's not just of old age or anything, i'm really scared that i have RA

Thank u for the info.
Tendonitis, arthritis (which type), inflammation. All I know is that I ate a bowl (about 2 cups) of wild blueberries last night (not for this purpose), along with avoiding foods that cause inflammation and today my shoulder, thumbs and wrists feel perfect. I have been suffering from an impingement or tendonitis in my shoulder, arthritis in the thumbs and wrists for the past 3 years. Hence, why I am now googling blueberries and inflammation. I hope I'm onto something. Ibuprofen stopped working. I was up to 4 at a time. Not a good idea.
Thank you for this video. It's very true.. I have severe pain in my hands over a year now. My doc Rheumatologist at first even thought is was likely Rheumatoid Arthritis. I do have a long history of Fibromyalgia though. We did all the blood test ANA and so on, but all were negative. Finally to confirm it an Ultrasound of my hands showed no Arthritis symptoms at all and no carpal tunnel. Joints actually look great. Needless to say the final diagnosis as of now is Fibromyalgia. Even I was pretty shocked that Fibromyalgia could manifest in my hands also.
Thank you for sharing your story. Wishing you all the best for your treatment and hoping everything goes smoothly for you.

I am very scared at present being only 56 years old coming from a family of strong fit people i had no idea whatnwas coming,in early february-2024,i,started having snapping noises in my knees & shoulder stiffness 😢😢 accompanied by utchy eyes,by mid March i had snapping wrists weak painful thumb & forefinger, snapping & cracking in my spine and hips,i am going to make an appointment with my doctor as i am getting worse and more tired by the day,i am worried it will be dismissed as oesteoarthritis in menopause & ii will not get proper tests and medicine.Should i ask for blood tests with maybe an x-ray,my left hip is the worst it made a very loud cracking noise like a branch being broken and has never gone back to normal.I apolgise for my writing i am very disturbed & frightened, thankyou,Paula,England x
Yes please have your primary doctor order appropriate labs and X-rays. If you need a rheumatology telemedicine evaluation, see the following link: healow.com/apps/practice/chicago-arthritis-llc-25058?v=1

what can be the reason to rule out eRA based on endocr ino hormone related etiology for pain? can you please explain this how would or which hormoens would be the culprit of RA? thank youy !

Thank you. I have a pain above my knuckle at my middle finger. This is this is a soft place above the knuckle before reaching my middle finger. I don’t know if I describe that right. Just hurting in the strange area to me. It’s a very sensitive area.
Thanks
How can I get a test for that
Labs and ultrasound can be ordered by your physician. Interpretation should be done by a Rheumatologist.
Which physician to consult for osteoarthritis? Is it Rheumatologist or orthopedics? Hospital put my friend (stage 2 OA) to the orthopedic doctor.
thank you
thank you
Informative thank u
Hi Doc. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis but my orthopaedic dr said its not a severe one he gives me some medication for inflammatory which is "VOLTRAN emugel, Methotrexat ebewe 2.5mg, Siphodine and BIODAL D3, but iam taking this for 2 months and there is no improvement instead its getting worst now i feel pain in my feet and my left hand i also feel severe stiffness specially in the morning
My ring finger in my right hand was swollen and not straight
Please see a Rheumatologist if you have RA. And orthopedic surgeon is not the correct doctor to see for this condition. You need to determine first off whether your RA is active or whether you have another cause for your residual pains.
Thank you so much ❤@@ChicagoArthritis
