Normally I create load combinations in RFEM . But Femap with Nastran offer more on 3D elements and assembly components contact than RFEM. It is nice to have the add on .

Thank for your great tutorial. Could you please give me what type of stress which is used when using Fatigue Euro Standard ?
In this case we use nominal stresses on elements. SDC Verifier's Weld recognition allows to reorient the stresses into the weld direction and apply a proper classification according to any Standard. Moreover, it is possible to use Hot Spot Stresses or Pricipal Stresses in our checks

Q1: How does the software take care of Irregular plate panel shapes? Eg: large brackets, web frames etc. Q2.Does the software identify that a particular panel is irregular and does the CSR suggested resolution into equivalent rectangles or triangle? Q3. Dear Hari Sankar, Thanks for your questions. Irregular shapes are calculated according to Common Structural Rules (1 Jan 2018), Appendix1, Chapter 2.2 that recommends to calculate stresses using a weighted average approach. Automatic recognition of all plate dimensions is performed per one of the two available methods: - longest edge (default method) that takes the length and longitudinal direction along the longest edge. Width is the maximum perpendicular distance to the opposite edge then; - according to Common Structural Rules (1 Jan 2018); Part 1, Chapter 8, Section 4 (2.3); It is also possible to customize sizes and longitudinal direction manually as well as variety of other customizations that ends up with writing own calculation schemes.

Why do you use a static analysis instead of a buckling analysis?
Thanks for your question. Buckling analysis result would be a buckling factor of a panel that will fail first, which does not guarantee that the rest of the structure is safe. In case of code check according to the rules you will have Utilization factor for every plate as a result. It will also take into account both linear and non-linear (ULS) buckling. And since it's mesh independent, there's no need to make a very detailed model for every plate for a correct result. Best Regards. SDC Verifier Support Team
at minute 25:48 he said "the classify profile sections at the same whay" but why are the values of c/t not the same in the beam theory classification section class 4 compered to the plate theory. so why in beam theory its c/t< 15 and in plate theory c/t < 18 ( according to his slides ) as they both are talking about a flange with one free side.
Perhaps this is a very powerful software but the usability is 1 out of 10. I am a civil engineer. I watched this video because of its name is "Eurocode 3...". At 9:18, the section class is 1.00. Is there a section class for example 1.34? Set up units for measuring values in columns. Stability loss curve 4.00. What does 4 mean? This is not in Eurocode 3. Should the user remember all the constants you entered (2:21)? At 20:23, column names are usually called not a decoding of the abbreviated name but a more friendly abbreviation. For example, N_Ed, N_t,Rd, N_c,Rd etc how is it done at 22:51. Pay attention to the implementation of the user interface in RFEM, SCIA, ConSteel and make friends with programmers.
Hi Valisiy, Thank you for sharing very detailed and nice feedback with us. We agree with your comments, especially with the name of parameters and constant values instead of text. We recently did updates in Eurocode3 and AISC360 standards and we've updated categories for some parameters. Section Class will be shown as 1, 2, 3, 4 in the coming version. Regarding curve = 4.00, indeed the letter would be user friendly and we plan to do that. One of the core ideas of the SDC Verifier is transparency, that's why we do all our calculations (except Joint Check) as open formulas. That makes our solution - not a black box but it has a drawback that all parameters are numbers. We have to do make an enhancement. We saw RSTAB from Dlubal and definitely will check SCIA and ConSteel, thank you for the tip.
