The gardens of Ashridge are beautiful. Did you go to the Prayer Circle? Princess Mary and Princess EluzabethI grew up at Ashridge in Tudor times. Horrid Henry v111 would use it as a hunting lodge. The old mill was where he let his terriers excersize attaching their leads to the centre. He destroyed the Monestery, sadly, but archaeologists took part in finding the foundations and artifacts a few years back. Beautiful House.
It was so hot we ran out of steam, will go back and have another look. I will do this video in colour, just been told off by her indoors that it should be in colour.

Wow I didn't know there were giant aphids! Great shots as always - love the frozen honey bee in flight - makes me wanna drag the flash out a few more times before we hit the code weather.
Giant aphids are easy to spot; a very shiny, sticky fluid is just below them. The bee shot was a lucky shot. It was sitting on a flower when I went to take its photo, I thought I had missed it as it took off, but when I was editing, it was almost out of frame, so that is cropped to get the picture.
An excellent two-hour walk in Maple Lodge Conservation Society bird reserve.
Some great shots in there like your relaxed presentation style it’s an easy listen that’s good enough for me. 👍

You may have gathered that I like to photograph spiders. Just to give you a scale, the probe I was using was a toothpick.🤓

Yep as old abbots boy back in the 80s me and a few mate on oct 31 we see what look like a gray miss that night we still talk about it went we meet up 40years later cheers love your videos cheers Dave
I love to wander and view the gravestone descriptions and spare a thought for those who may have lived hundreds of years ago. These are peaceful places there is much peace.
I find them a great place to do photography.

Hello Jason, I was wondering what had happened to you, as you say, we haven't seen you for a while at the Lodge. You missed a great open day last Sunday. I hope you're well, and it would be nice to see you again.
I miss Kent - not visited there in 5 years. My sister lives in a village near Hildenborough
We've been going for about ten years; the other half does line dancing and we do a weekender twice a year, up till last year it was in Folkestone now we are in Bournemouth.
It would have been painted in vibrant colours when built depicting scenes from Christ's ministry. A beautiful screen would have been built in front of the Altar. So much was destroyed in the reformation sadly,but once hadMass in St Marys Henley where the original was saved. Also St Nicholas in Hurst. St Albans Cathedral has many relics left, and you can still see some of the original paintings by the Baptisimal Water Font. That would be a good one to visit. 😊
I used to see a lot of these little river darlings...lets hope they increase in numbers 😊

Im in the RSPB and Woodland Trust and am in awe of the most beautiful insects many take for granted. Spiders are amazing!

I had a giant spuder some years back who built a big web in my garden. I made sure she was safe. I called her Shelob after the huge spuder in The Lord of the Rings! 😊😂 @@MartinJSmithPhotographyUK

duringthemeanwhillst thanks for the comment. It was a lucky find, her indoors and her sister was looking round the garden center, so just went for a drive round and found it up a small lane. It's looked after by the friends of Saint Mary's Church.
