Excellent sir..
Hello sir thank you so much for providing all the knowledge i was going through your videos regarding ulnar nerve palsy so much information there for patient too.. I am giving you so many details so this comment is so long doing this so that you could understand the situation please read it Sir my left elbow was dislocated and had ucl complete tear and common flexor tear so on 14th aug 2024 my 1st surgery was performed to repair ucl dr notes-( medial approach, medial joint exposed, mcl torned, anchors inserted at medial epicondyle and ulnar crest, kim tape used, with additional fixation by additional loop, lavage done and wound closed)..before surgery i had no issues like claw had or nerve palsy no signs, i just had stiffness in elbow so for rom and strength i did surgery.....after surgery i got ulnar claw hand(incomplete), was unable to abduct n adduct fingers i was sure that its because ulnar nerve issue that could have happened in surgery as it was for ulnar collateral ligament and nerve passes through that area, dr asked me to to physiotherapy but after my request and talking with neurologist he suggested re exploration so after 2days of 1st surgery on 17th aug 2nd surgery was performed dr notes- ( re exploration and release of ulnar nerve, incision revised, ulnar nerve exposed, nerve released and fixed , lavage done and wound closed) dr told me that nerve was compressed due to swelling and some issue in 1st surgery and now its released, but still I had claw hand, current situation - i have numbness and no sensation in little last finger, numbness in half part of ring finger, numbness in area of palm where ulnar nerve goes i meant area below little finger, but improvement is visible (not alot) like in pronation i am able to straight all fingers little and ring too mcp hypertension happens sometimes sometimes i am able control, pip i am able to extend it..but sometimes i get claw looking like hand but mostly i am able to straight all fingers without giving support and restricting hyperextension of mcp joints..another thing is my trying i am able to adduct and abduct middle finger but after giving efforts and movement is not alot but i can say that movement is happening, i can adduct little finger on table but after making efforts like training finger to move in one direction..in nutshell some tests i am passing but requires efforts.. Dr has suggested that movement and sense will come after 3 weeks so we wait for 3 weeks as nerve has been released according to him. Please suggest me 1) how much time it will require to get my hand normal 2) should i wait for 3 weeks as suggested by doctor? Or see any other neurosurgeon and get other tests done regarding nerve 3) i dont want things like muscle wasting and tendon transfer need to mee, as my injury happed recently so i can resolve issue with nerve repair 4) sir i want to take every correct possible step to avoid future not so good conditions that this could give me, so please suggest me what should be my next steps 5) how long should i wait to get results of this surgery, after how many days of waiting wnd seeing no result i should consult to another doctor so that i dont loose days and could treat it before its too late like requiring tendon transfer 6) if any splint that i should use or exercises that i should do here, physiotherapist said no splint required as you have no deformity after 2nd surgey and have no claw hand but i cant trust them as some test were positive like extension of joint of thumb when holding a book and pressing it. Please answer any query thats possible for you.i know i asked so many questions wnd wrote w very long paragraph sorry for this, if possible please give me your suggestion i will be grateful.
