I love his pots and also how he talks about them in the film you made of him years back.

God Bless on your journey ... I don't find them too morbid - even if they are obviously cadavers and remains of lost life, they are still incredibly interesting, and you make them sing ... I find all of nature fascinating - and death is not a downer at all for those of us with faith and assurance in our immortality - quite the reverse! Thanks, Goldmark - for all you do.

Thank you Mike Dodd. You have inspired me to think deeply about my own life and my own work. Since that one day I stumbled on you, I have always reflected on how beautiful your art is. I love your stories on how you grew to being a great potter and human. I felt your compassion relating to how we should respect to all life and becoming a vegetarian. I became vegan in 2012. It meant so much to me to hear you express what it means. I loved your stories about your daughter and other great potters you’ve had the pleasure to meet. I have been making my own pottery since 1997, as a non traditional student here in South Texas, and a single father. Although I thought I was going to study in some other major, I kept finding a love in the arts. Unfortunately, I have been struggling to win my battle with cancer, I could never regret my love and choice in pottery. I wish I could travel back in time and found this love sooner in life, I am so grateful to have found your passion, inspiration and love of sharing with the world, the great Mike Dodd. A lovely, loving documentary of a lovely man and his lovely pots. The individual narrating the walk-through was spectacular, and really got to the essence of Mike, his philosophies of making art, pottery, and our relationships to the world. Very enjoyable. Thank you!

Wish I could see these pots and meet you all in person. Who is carrying on this tradition of making pots this way? Momentum kick wheel, local materials, mark making, and his forms… the shapes of his pots are just right. Thank you for the walk around.

I love this channel! Fascinating documentaries and walk-throughs, obviously you put a huge amount of work into them. Thank you!

what I like about this video is that the aesthetics are not forced upon, so called based on "being moral", that dictates what's right and wrong, which is pervasive teaching in Korean art education in general, including pottery. In terms of "mastery", there might be right or wrong, but it keeps one away from feeling what's beautiful personally, the personal conversation and journey with clay. Her way of approach made me see that. So much thanks to her and the video :)

Gosh! what joy. After watching this vid I realise slowly the scales begin to fall from my eyes. I watch the European tea drinkers, self-conscious of an unfamiliar ritual and feel it too. I hesitate to continue watching then you draw me back in with such lovely detailed explanations of the individual pots and then the facts that many are a signature of the potter ,he can do what he likes ,there are no rules for self expression. Absolutely wonderful and beautifully presented, many thanks . I feel a little more enlightened today.

Wow. I have never seen such original interpretations of the moon jar. These look like eggs! It feels like birth, transformation and a celebration of living. To think she was destined to do this (I think so), and she found it by accident. By refusing to be unhappy, and then by a happy accident. I wish her every happiness. Her work is very moving and very unique. 💪🏼 💕

This film was one of a number commissioned by my uncle, James Lillie-Costello, when he was Public Relations Manager at Shell. He and his wife were Roman Catholics. And I think Shell were also involved in Coventry Cathedral, thanks to him. I think Shell may have paid for the glass for both cathedrals?
