@@plantymom Yes I agree! I think anthurium don’t like to be too root bound and enjoy having extra space to grow. I guess I need to start looking for a new pot for this one!

@@שרוןשרון She used to be feral and was spayed in a TNR (trap & release) situation. The ears are cut to signify that the cat is fixed and doesn’t need surgery again. It helps reduce wild populations of cats to spay and neuter feral ones if they’re able to be caught. I adopted her shortly after her spay!

@@Wubblyt A few thrips have found the corbaci pepper that I have inside 🙈 Luckily it hasn’t been many and I’ve been able to kill them all! And you’re so right, they all come from outside somewhere! 😊🌱

@@princesssunrays affinis is Latin and they have similar definitions/uses, and are used interchangeably in the houseplant community. I will be continuing to say affinity because that is what everyone I know uses and has used for years.

@@acatinthegarden I have never heard anyone say affinity instead of aff or afinis. It's your choice to use affinity but aff and cf both stand for Latin words so that would be the correct names of the plants. Again, your plants your choice.

@@Bluepheasant7 I’m glad I’m not the only one! I’m growing it again this year and I almost have some pods that are ready so I’ll have to see if it’s a recurring problem.

@@chasitydomenici109 Aww thanks! They’re from propagation diaries! The small ones are called “ring plant stake” and they come in a bunch of colors!

@@Wubblyt I agree with you! There are so many factors that go into it though, such as the genetics and quality of a specific hoya you purchase, so it’s not always the same care for every hoya of the same type. I think I will be moving a few of the Hoyas around! I know my Larry doesn’t like the cabinet so I need to put it on the windowsill. My caudata Sumatra really loved the prop box. I might have to move it back to a higher humidity situation like that if it doesn’t adjust soon!

@@vicky3792 wow, all of them? What do you do in the winter? Right now I have about 20 porch plants and I just bring them in the garage for the few weeks it freezes.

@@acatinthegarden they will all come in. There’s only 40 and most are small. They grow so well outside here in Texas. Even my Thomsonii is working on leaf 3 and 4 in just a few weeks.

@@vicky3792 That makes sense! I’ll definitely be adding a few more outside. I will have to buy bigger shelves but it’s worth it for more growth!

@@Puddlesmolly it depends on the plants! The two cuttings didn’t arrive in pots so I’ll pot them up in moss right away. The third one is in a small pot in chunky mix but it’s not root bound so I’ll let it grow in there for a while. I’ll typically look so signs like stunted growth or lots of roots coming out of the pot to determine when it’s time for repotting! Each plant is different but if I’d have to guess I’d say this one would be ready within 6 months for a repot ☺️

@@chasitydomenici109 I’m glad you enjoyed it! Almost all of my anthurium are in a moss based mix. If there’s no drainage in the pot I do a layer of leca at the bottom to add some drainage. I also add perlite and some leca into the mossy mix that they live in. I just water them whenever the moss looks dry! They seem to really like living in moss on my experience as they dry out too much in a chunky mix here in Texas!

@@paulanoakes5358 I love her plants as well! I have so many I got as small cuttings that are now big beautiful plants. Getting a healthy cutting is key and hers are always so healthy and happy! Interesting to hear about the change in leaf shape on the David’s Green Cup. I’ll have to watch mine closely and see what it does 😊
