Thank you

Enjoyed that mate
I took up cycling last year after buying my first gravel bike and i manageged to complete 3 of your routes now Glasgow - Balloch Balloch - Drymen Callander - Killin (Skipped Drymen - Callander 😅) Looking forward to my next route. Thanks for the guidance
Glad they are still of use. Hope you did a better job of following the directions to Balloch than I did 😉
I’ve walked this.I haven’t done it on a bike though.
I just did it today, not too many bikes. Annoying traffic noise at Dunglass roundabout, other than that, a great ride. Like yer maw.
I see you haven’t posted anymore cycling videos now for two years. I hope everything is ok with you. After watching your route 7 videos last spring, four of us completed the legs you posted. Redoing the route out of Glasgow this weekend i rewatched them. Love the commentary the music and style of the videos. Thanks👍👍👍
I'm good thanks. Since lockdown I'm doing more more cycling, but less filming of my rides and I've still got the inverness leg of 7 to edit, 7 years on ugh. Thankyou for the kind words on the videos. They look pretty shakey now, stabilisation technology has moved on so much since I did them, but glad they are still useful 🙂
Thank you for the SF. Need it to go along with my logo that is a pocket watch.
These are great guides, but the music is truly awful repeating itself over and over.
Thanks for the kind comments. As for the music, what can I say, it was free. If I ever get round to editing the final episode, it will be better, I promise. (BTW its kinda strange noone mentioned the music on any of these for the first 6 years, and suddenly there's a lot of music criticism. Tastes change I suppose). 😉
@@SartorialPictures I guess so. Great videos though and they're giving me a lot of inspiration to come and do these rides when I'm collecting British Cycle Quests. Keep up the good work.
I did this just two weeks ago, but North to South. Thanks for these videos. I watched them all before going and they really helped planning.
The commentary was fine, the scenery was fine and I know both Callender and Killin. However, the music is appalling and it does nothing to enhance the enjoyment of watching the video.
I’ve so enjoyed these videos - thank you! Heading out from newtonmore today, my last day and only sad it’s nearing the end. Thanks to you and sustrans and my Garmin, navigation has been a breeze! And I had sun and a tailwind over Drumochter 😎 Love to see that final video still, just put some disclaimers in that things may have changed!
Thankyou so much. That's exactly the motivation I need to get that Inverness leg finished 😎
Great video spoilt by awful repetitive 'music'.
Och I know, it was the best I could get at the time. But even Beethoven is repetitive 😎
Awesome can i use this?
Thankyou. Sure, just follow the guidelines in the description and credit.
8:22 should have been on the right hand pavement and followed under the underpass
Yeah, I go that way a lot now and back up the canal to Maryhill. I keep thinking it's so obvious and don't know how I missed it for the video. I think I should have done dry run first 😎
Really wanted to d the bowling to Loch Lomond run and this has made me want to do it even more.
Well the Bowling part is now a lot better with the 'bowline' flyover that skips the road crossing.
Magical

haha I've come back to this tutorial 5 years later. Still works Awesome.
Good to know. What version are you on now?
@@SartorialPictures I'm on the newest version before they really screwed it up. I had to email them and demand a refund for the latest version. Hahaha its like a whole different software, and much worse
@@mikksup thanks for the warning. I'm still on 13. It works 😅
@@SartorialPictures DO NOT UPGRADE!!! haha, seriously
2 weeks I'm doing that cycle all the way to Glencoe , really looking forward to it tbh.
Great run,, bar that Techno crap music,,
The music was very fashionable back when the video was made, just like the unstabilised gopro footage 😉
Great cycle where exactly was your starting point in Callander as i don’t know Callander that well thanks
Station Road Car Park on the North side of the town/ main road. It's a big car park with toilets.
@@SartorialPictures Thank you 🙏
annoying music
What kind of bike did you use ?
It was a specialized tricross, so a bit like a modern gravel bike, 32mm tyres, but I run it with 40mm tyres now.
Superb tut and very nice examples, thanks!
Great video, thanks for the detail. Looking forward to trying this route out!
I have movie studio 13 platinum but there isn't anything on time line to merge tracks, that arrow isn't there
Hmmmm... only thing I can think of is to check you are in advanced edit mode (buttons top left of screen)
Im gonna try this route for the first time on Saturday, finally bought a bike after not cycling for years
Beautiful place 💛😍
A beautiful short film. Can't understand why it doesn't have more likes.
Thank you for your kind comments
Is there a GPX file of this route?
No, nothing modern like that :-). It's well signposted though and if you need it for your computer it's an easy one to generate.
Cycled here and back yesterday. Love this route
How long did it take you round trip please?
Beautiful melody of combat from such a basic element. Thanks for sharing.
Did this last week- very hard for us there and back 😰
It's tough, no doubt. Toughest stage on the route by far. A Ben Nevis amount of climbing and pretty rough too.
@@SartorialPictures Yes. I like your videos as you give information on surfaces etc which really helps when using a road bike
Really enjoyed this video. Helps plan our trips (on the road bike!!!)
Starts at 15:00
Thanks!!! You helped me a lot..
This is sooo beautiful.. best birds i ever heard.. makes me feel soo happy.. Thank You x
Do you know if any further improvements have been made to the surface? I was going to do the route with a road bike
I last did the route exactly 1 year ago, and I'd expect no further change since then. So the only update from the video is the addition/improvement of tarmac from callander to the forest holidays park. That covers what was the muddy falls of Leny section. However, the other rough sections remain (1) the strathyre hairpins ... it's short so you can walk that in 5 minutes and (2) the descent into Killin. This is longer and is a bumpy land rover type track. I did it in 23mm tyres in the video so if your road bike is more modern than my 2008 allez and has say 28mm tyres it would be more comfortable than I found it, so long as you take your time.
@@SartorialPictures thanks for the update, I’ll bare that in mind when I go up to do it
I used to do this ride on Sundays from Glasgow x, some years back nice to see it again changed a bit in places , thanks for posting 👍
Wrong again ! You need the sound of men grunting in combat. That's what makes a sword battle.
Love all your cycling videos Very professional Pity there was not alot more So I watch them again and again.👍
Thank you so much. I know What you mean about rewatching ... I keep watching the gcn video of the North coast 500. Amazing scenery, it's how I'd like my videos to be. Hoping to get the Inverness one out soon :-)
I really like your videos but think they'd be better with no/different music
Thankyou. I agree. I need the music often to cover the wind noise, but some of the free stuff is not the best. Better music planned for future ones
Can't see the final videos for NCN 7? Missing Slochd!
Och i know, still haven't done the edit :-(
@@SartorialPictures Ha ha, just so long as I hadn't missed it somewhere. Have watched all of the others this morning in a bit of a NCN7 fest, your films are very enjoyable and easy to watch, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the last piece when you get round to it! :)
@@pootlingalong8928 Thankyou. I've left it so long now that some of the route has been delisted/downgraded out of NCN7 by sustrans as part of their network review 😎.
@@SartorialPictures Ah! Interesting, and thanks for the update. Hopefully they'll tweak another way for us one day :)
What mic did you use?
Hi there. You'll find the answer in the title, the description and its the most duscussed subject in the other comments;-)
@@SartorialPictures in what minute did you use the rode videomicro?
@@jalisco1800 The two interviews were done on the video micro.
@@SartorialPictures Nice, thanks for the quick response.
Thank you for posting this ... so nostalgic. I cycled from Callander to Strathyre on my LEJOG about 7 years ago. I came off the route there to go visit Rob Roy's grave at Balquidder and saw the Glen Ogle viaduct from the road before riding down to Killin. I'd love to ride it again so I could do the section I missed.
Drove past the site today, with difficulty. Instead of an off road car park as before there are hundreds of cars parked on the verge from well below to severAl miles above the original Centre location, making passing other cars very difficult. Madness to remove the Visitor Centre and the loos especially, and it certainly hasn’t reduced the numbers of climbers and walkers in the slightest.
Oof, I've been avoiding anywhere I reckon might be 'popular' recently. Sounds like that's wise.
