I can hardly think of a WORSE developer/film combination than Fomapan 400/Rodinal (at almost any dilution). Rodinal brings out the GRAIN in any film, almost to the maximum possible as it contains almost NO sulfite (a silver solvent which reduces apparent grain), much as Kodak HC-110. Fomapan 400 is a traditional medium thick emulsion film with more inherent grain than Kodak Tri-X Pan or Ilford HP-5 Plus. A far more suitable developer would be Kodak D-76 1:1, Ilford ID-11 1:1 or mix your own Kodak D-23 1:1. All would give smoother grain and excellent sharpness, or for more effective film speed use any of them full strength. Today's photographers seem to believe Rodinal is good for all films. It isn't. I have 55 years of yellow fingernails on you.

Hello, do you recommend using Rodinal 1+100 with Foma 400? I'm planning to develop one in the future but I'm a beginner in home developing so I'm worried about if more dilution will cause losing contrast on this film or not? btw what's your method of developing? I've seen many tried this combination with semi-stand. Thanks for sharing! :)

I've just prepare my parodinal stock chemical. It's very nice to see your parodinal developed negatives. After 3 days, i'll try mine.

Thanks for sharing your work! I would rate Foma 100 as ISO 50. Especially in large format. Try a deep yellow filter. The photo at 1:40 min of the two buildings is really good.

hello! i was thinking of getting this as a beginner film camera just for me to try out, but before getting it i wanted to see if it’s easy to handle.
