Hi! Saw your video and I honestly prefer OLED. How has your Aero 16 been in the long term? I have heard a lot of people complain about thermals and quality issues with blue screens etc.

Am using Aero series since years and you have to be careful with resolution, you have to restart laptop if you want a new res to be applied Except 4k res, I think this issue comes with UHD graphics

Looking at this video it seems that the mini led model reproduces the videos with too much light, overexposed, the images almost always seem burned by the light. In this your other video czcams.com/video/EHyOWBY5uJ8/video.html starting at 02:00 of the video, it seems to be a little better. Were the settings the same?

Any noticeable mini-led blooming?

How bright is the screen? I know its HDR1000 but what is the max for non-HDR content?

My Aero 17 arrived yesterday. I upgraded from the 2021 Aero 17 with 1080p and 2070 Super. The minLED is about 10% better than the previous Aero 17, which is pretty good considering the quality screen on the 2021 version. Have only played some Fallout 76 on it so far as still getting it setup, but with the default graphics being set to 6500k in the Gigabyte control panel app I was seeing too much brightness/contrast (as shown in this video) until I changed the panel setting to native. The native setting makes it look allot like the 2021 screen with very accurate colours and good contrast. It was the only display setting changed and it has made a huge quality difference. Also, the sound is noticeably better with headphones, and slightly better with speakers (I have very rarely used speakers because they are pretty crap). The laptop lid is also improved and feels really smooth and solid when opening. Keyboard is good, but so was the old one…and the chassis has a bit less depth which makes it look allot thinner (didn’t notice it in the pics or videos). Adding a second SSD was easy, but I was down to one functional prying fingernail before I got the back off - CNC milling. It’s fast, looks mighty good (with beautiful matte finish display to stop glare), and should be a solid choice for gaming with the 3070ti as the 4070 is only a few frames faster in most games. Thanks for the video, it helped allot when trying to decide which one to buy.

oled has much better contrast and image depth and sharpness. but is too dark which removes detail and color because dark areas are too dark. it lacks light. ips miniled has pretty colors, maybe even too pretty ;) very bright, joyful and lively, the dark areas show a lot of details and colors in the shadows but it lacks a lot of contrast, depth! and sharpness. Difficult to choose between these 2 technologies... oled will be less aggressive for the eyes and the 16/10 format is cool But 1000 nits oled may be a better compromise, or a better contrast miniled.

Mini led is the superior tech and is close to reality.

I have the i9 12900 with 32gb it’s a good laptop but not great. I was disappointed with the 2x 1TB ssd drives. They could have put 1x2 TB so I didn’t have to buy two new ssd to max it out to 4TB. Honestly if someone is willing to pay as much as it costs don’t they think the consumer will upgrade it at so point. The 3080ti is misleading it is only drawin 105 or so watts for a 120 Hz vs gaming laptops with similar specs. It’s loud to get it to perform need a cooling pad, as most laptops. It is pretty though. I use it for UE5 and video editing which it can handle. I have had the matrix city demo from UE5 up and only crashes when I push it in 4K so I guess that’s good. Anyway. That’s my two cents. But I think I would get the msi with the same spec if I could do over.

I want to ask you about the quality of the display especially contrast? I know it is not an OLED, but is it better than most laptops have IPS display? I am intersted in the mini led display on the Zephyrus Flow X16, but I have had bad experiences with Asus' laptops in the past. Also, I am not expecting it to run games in 4k, but does it run hot when it is running games on 1440p? Thank you

Hi. Thank you so much for sharing, I was really searching for this kind of review where the two models were compared side by side, many well known reviewers didn't bother to do so, don't know why!! I've heard that the "Aero 17 mini led" doesn't look better than the oled ones, -I also find it so bright and unnatural, is it because the camera couldn't handle the brightness? Does it also appears the same to the naked eye?- Forgot to enable HDR! Edit: Mini led is bright, but it losses details in some scenes because of it, still looks a bit unnatural, I think it needs more contrast... Have you happen to play games & watch movies on it, which one do you prefer especially for games & movies?

Another question, do you know what similar model has this excact keyboard layout? Trying to find a keyboard silicon protector (that fits per keys) for it and i cant find one... Only older aero shows up (with numpad versions) Thanks

How is the gaming on 4k? do you see any tearing? do you know if any of the ports connects to the GPU for external display and gsync?

Any tips improving battery life? Got ddr5 aero 16 3070ti model and the battery is sooooooo bad even for light works
