Night FIshing for Big Striped Bass

This was a quick, cool and scary trip. We both manage to catch a fish each, one trolling and one on bait. Unfortunaly the wind pick up really bad which brought in the scary part, we manage to make it back ok but it starting blowing 20 in literally 5 minutes. This was actually my second trip of 2021. The water was still a little cold, about 48 degrees. I fished for about 4 hours before the wind picked up. Family Fun! Fishing on the Chesapeake bay. Labor Day 2020 This is the first time I visit the Chesapeake Bay and we had a blast. We caught about 14 different species between fishing on the boat and fishing on the dock. We are for sure coming back since we still looking for a big Red Drum and a big Cobia. Yep, never had it happen, but I am going to practice flipping mine back over this weekend, and getting one of those straps that you pull to make it easier. Scary situation. Glad you're ok.

That is why I don't like sit on top kayaks. In a sea kayak or white water kayak, you just flip right back up if you know how to do a roll. I also do not like killing fish.

cool. people need to keep their rods off the rails if they are not right there using them, every time you lifted you rod to go over those rods in the rail I was think crack.

It's a same Hobie doesn't fix their designed.. when you flip the front hatch takes in a lot of water

I know this vid was made a while ago but everytime I go kayak fishing in the bay I always get tons of seaweed, like pounds of seaweed. Is there any solution? Also I think I’m cursed cause I cannot catch any fish and I go for like 10 hours each week
You need a new spot lol Sometimes there is so much stuff on the bay even trolling is annoying because you're always picking up weed

You need to bring your own, there is a tackle shop at the dock but I recommend getting it before so you don't spend too much time there and miss the boat

Those are cheap mechanic gloves, just to help with cold materials but I try to keep my hand dry as much as possible.

@@DestinationFishing I do not bring a lot of gear with me on a kayak or boat. I tie down everything when fishing the surf. I guess we all have to learn the hard way.
After watching this video I’m rethinking if I should by a kayak. This happened to you close to the beach and during summer, I was just thinking if was fall and not as close to the beach.

Loved the video but you def gotta let the crew do their job and not be telling other people when to reel or switch into low gear. They have way more experience doing this than you and if you make one mistake it'll cost you a fish or broken rod

Love the videos!! I am a long time surf fisherman and this year is my first time saltwater fishing. Can you recommend the clothing that helps you stay dry while fishing. I guess you have outfit you can recommend for spring and for fall? Looking forward to your recommendation.
Hey Thanks for watching it. If you're fishing on a kayak I recommend a semi dry suit, get one with a zipper in case you need to go you know lol. You can change how much clothes you put underneath depending on weather. Don't let spring weather fool you the water will still be cold. I'm going to tell you the truth on the beginning it sucked wearing that and a life vest but after a while I didn't even notice it. I'm far from knowing what to do but I have seem a bunch of people on the water that couldn't get back on the kayak so anticipate everything.

Honestly if I had a boat and I see a kayaker or a boat in trouble is pure common sense to go and help is not rocket science, glad you made it out safely.
I've had a boat for a little time now and I keep my eye open in case someone needs help. Things happen really fast out there.
