My Walks UK
United Kingdom
Registrace 3. 12. 2019
A mixture of walks in the UK (and occasionally further afield), including any wildlife or interesting things that I spot while out and about. I hope the videos encourage you to go out and enjoy walking too.
Walk 136 | Three Counties | Highest Peaks Walk
A five hour walk that was so good, I walked it twice!
This video was originally filmed in July 2024. However, a camera software update rendered all the video unusable, so I repeated the walk again in August 2024, after the issue was remedied.
A 17-mile linear walk to the summits of the highest peaks in the three English Counties of Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
My walk begins in the Buckinghamshire town of Wendover and heads up into Wendover Woods to the highest peak in Buckinghamshire, Haddington Hill (267m).
I then head downhill to pick up The Ridgeway, passing through Northill Wood and into Pavis Wood, the location of the highest peak in Hertfordshire (244m). From here I pass through Hastoe and into Tring Park, skirt the edge of Wigginton, then downhill to Tring Train Station.
From Tring Station I follow The Ridgeway up over Aldbury Nowers and Pitstone Hill, then turn right halfway up Steps Hill towards Ward’s Hurst Farm, and down Hog Hall Lane to Dagnall.
Heading uphill again, I join the Icknield Way, passing through Whipsnade Village and ending on The Dunstable Downs, the highest peak in Bedfordshire (243m).
This video was filmed in 4K on a GoPro Hero 11 and a DJI Mini 3 Drone, on a mainly bright day in August 2024.
If you would like to suggest a walk for me to video, please let me know in the comments.

I’m away in Dorset right now, the scenery has blown me away! I would encourage you to explore the Purbecks if you haven’t already. Great vid btw.
Thanks for that @Bishie87, enjoy the rest of your time in Dorset, weather looks good for this week👍
PS, Mrs W and I are doing a 30KM walk along the Jurassic Coast next summer and will be staying in near the Purbecks area.
I am walking this route this Saturday. Thanks, a very useful video.
You are welcome, I hope you enjoy your walk on Saturday.
What a pretty bird!
Thank you
Yesterday's weather was perfect for a bike ride! I spent four hours cycling from Apsley to Berkhamsted along the Grand Union Canal, then looped back to Hemel Hempstead through Potten End. The route had plenty of hill climbs, but the scenery made it all worthwhile!
@Bishie87 how many miles did you cycle by the time you got home? Weather was just right yesterday, I walked 11.75 miles and apart from tired legs, I felt good. Would have been a totally different story today. Keep up the good work 👍
@@mywalksUK Apologies for the late reply! I’d say a good 15+ miles altogether.
Nice videography and interesting locations, but a descriptive commentary either with, or instead of, the music, would also be very welcome for context. Have subscribed.
@@Westwoodii thank you
Sublime! I’m still here btw. You’re not getting rid of me! 😜
@Bishie87 you are a star ⭐️

Thanks 🙏

Thank you for sharing ✨️
You are so welcome
I'd like to recommend a 10-mile circular route that starts in Albury and takes you through the Ashridge Estate, Berkhamsted Common, and along the Grand Union towards Cow Roast. Then, follow the Chiltern Way until you reach Albury again. You can find a version of it below: czcams.com/video/BsTX506qwe4/video.html
Thanks @Bishie87, I do love walking in this area so will add this to my list.
July has been lousy thus far, here's to some better weather!
Totally agree @Bishie87, this weekend was awful!
Rosa?
Beautiful photography and music. Best wishes to your channel.
@johnfrank6112 many thanks for your kind comments
Nádherná labutí rodinka ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you
That looks like a nice habitat for these orangutans.
They were all very chilled
I’ve been waiting for this one for what feels like an eternity! I’ve cycled the whole journey numerous times, but never on foot. What was your favourite aspect?
@Bishie87, I had walked the initial section in Hemel before, so I guess I enjoyed the section from the M1 to Harpenden, as it was new to me. 👍
@@mywalksUK I noticed you didn’t stop to look at the pig pen on your right at: 14:23 The last time I was there, one was heavily pregnant!
@@Bishie87 the pigs made some awful noises just after I walked past
Lush ❤
Thanks
How long did it take?
@beckyjohns3900 the walk took me 5 hours, this included stops for water and to change the battery on the camera approx every 75 mins. I would recommend this walk, but only during a dry spell, as the towpath can get messy in places when wet.
what the dog doin
Enjoying the sea 😁
Life has been pretty stressful, your videos are a welcome relief!
@Bishie87, sorry to hear that and so glad to provide you with some relief from the stress. Take care
It’s great to see how green England is this year!
Thanks Felix 👍
Thanks for this, helped showing a friend the route for a running race! 13:50 - 17:21 was on the wrong route just so you know albeit not far off
Glad it helped and thanks for the heads up, my map reading skills aren’t always spot on 👍
I’m presently watching the Xbox Games Showcase, but this is next on the list! 👍
Living the dream 😁
Can I pet that DOG!! 😂❤

Friendly dogs are the icing on the cake when enjoying the great outdoors! Still looking forward to that Nickey Line video btw!
100% agree @Bishie87. Nickey Line video recorded and will be out in a few weeks 👍
WOW❤😮😊🎉😳
thank you @yogeshkumar-ce7dt
I don't have a sex partner 😩😲🥴☹️
I think they did, they were just chillin until next time 😁
The greenery is just staggering at this time of year! The weather has been lousy during my son's half-term break, which is typical!
@Bishie87 it's sod's law that the weather turns lousy during half-term. We just need more bright sunny days like yesterday!
You do get around! Quite a contrast to venturing around Hertfordshire.
Not quite the same as walking along the Grand Union Canal, but love doing both 😁 Cheers @Bishie87 👍
This is so weird! I visited Berkhamsted Castle yesterday with my nephew, and there was a bloke prepping his drone, and your channel immediately came to mind. Probably just a coincidence though, haha! Incredible footage btw.
Great coincidence @Bishie87 but I recorded this a few weeks ago 👍
I’ve been spectacularly busy lately, so I’ve got a nice backlog of videos to catch up on! Keep up the good work.
Thanks @Bishie87 hope things become more chilled soon 👍
Well done! It might took you 5 hours?
Thanks @allmc3120 it took me 3 hours 45 minutes to complete this walk
@@mywalksUK even better than I thought.
Sweet 😊
They were very cute
That`s a Good welcome from two fluffy friends 🥰
The best way to be greeted 👍
I'm not big on urban environments, but this was a welcome change of pace!
Glad the urban walk didn't put you off @Bishie87. I've been wanting to see the Thames Barrier up close for a long time, so was pleased to incorporate it into a walk.
Your channel is up there with CountryHouseGent, who does the Travels by Narrowboat series on CZcams. You both provide a virtual travelling experience, albeit in a different format. Your videos are integral to my weekly viewing! I wish I could support you in some way, I still say a merch store is a good shout! I'd readily buy a t-shirt or hoody with the ‘My Walks UK logo’ emblazoned on it.
@Bishie87 you are a fantastic supporter of this channel and that's all I could ask for. Cheers 👍

fue encantador de ver
Bless that lady and her dog! I love seeing the older generation out and about. A friend of mine was an avid walker well into her eighties, she’d put me to shame!
@Bishie87 i'm fortunate that I meet lots of great people out walking.
Keep that content coming! I'll watch this later with a nice cuppa.
@Bishie87 this walk required one bus and two train journeys, but it just added to the adventure. Enjoy the cuppa and the video 👍
Hi I was wondering how much you pay your drone the DJI mini 3 thanks
Not sure I'm afraid, I bought it a while ago
Wonderful
Thank you Clair
The weather has been a bit hit-and-miss lately, but it’s supposed to get warmer starting this week. I was going to recommend one of the Chess Valley circulars, but I think you’ve already covered it. I’m looking forward to your Nicky Line walk in the summer!
There are a couple of walks coming up in the Amersham/Chesham/Hemel areas and I’ve a few more planned for Berko, Chesham and St Albans. Fingers crossed for the rain to eventually stop!
I’ve been eagerly anticipating this one, and you certainly didn’t disappoint! The drone footage was just awe-inspiring. I greatly appreciate the recognition in the description also.
@Bishie87 it was a pleasure to film this, without your input I wouldn't have known about such a lovely place. Thanks for your excellent support 👍
I've not been receiving notifications about new uploads on your channel, I'll have to catch up on the last couple!
I thought you'd gone on holiday😁
@@mywalksUK I thought you’d either gone away or were under the weather! 😂
