I'm gonna show you how to download and install the Red Dead Redemption 2 mod RedM on your PC. Allowing you to create and play on privately run multiplayer servers using the Red Dead base game world.
FAQs
- Make sure to have the Rockstar Launcher and and Steam (or wherever you bought the game from) open before trying to open or download RedM.
- Make sure you have opened and started the main game prior to trying to download RedM. Don't have to play loads but it needs to have kicked in with downloading all the game data that RedM then needs.

You havent mentioned the fact you need to fill in a job application to join a RedM sever nowadays.
Still cant get this shit to work with the epics game version. No matter what when trying to join a server it asks me to open steam, no matter what i do. Steam is open, asks the same thing. Steam is closed.... same thing. Worst experience ever.
WINDOWS 11... RDO purchased on steam. cannot find rdr2.exe anywhere. help please =p
You need to go to where you have steam saved e.g. E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2 and then look for a file called RDR2. THAT'S THE ONE. If unsure just right click, go to properties and under details you'll see the Original filename as RDR2.exe

Have you played the game a little? As in RDO, so it's opened normally. If not do that. Have you got Rockstar Launcher and Steam both open when you try to open RedM? If not, do that.
@@KateMadison so apparently you have to find your rockstar account that you used when you bought red dead redemption, and you have to sign in on that one and then click the RedM and I’m not used to that because i play FiveM and we don’t have to sign into rockstar when playing that it took me a while, but I figured it out because if you don’t sign in on the rockstar account that you purchased read dead redemption on then it will just stay at the signing in screen on RedM

Have you ever opened and played the normal game? RedM is a mod so you need to have opened the game up at least once so your computer has downloaded various game files before RedM can open and function.
@@KateMadison yeah Ive been playing it so I can get used to the basic stuff but I figured it out after reinstalling redM and restarted my PC and it worked normally

Actually, I have a new channel and new video that will answer this exact question very soon! Essentially it's a way of creating your own server and modding a multiplayer version of Red Dead.

I have rdr2 on steam so with the rockstar launcher open and steam open when you go to download RedM that's what happens. Make sure you have the rockstar launcher open, whatever program you bought the game from and also check your antivirus isn't nuking RedM before it can even get started.
It keeps saying I need to connect my discord to join servers, I pressed on the discord option on the top that brought me to a link in which I connected but still keeps saying I’m not connected. What do I do?

I dont know what is wrong with RedM launcher, i watched so much videos tutorials and etc, the problem is that when i first downloaded it i copied it into another disk and started download there but i dont clearly remember if it asked for my rdr2 directory, but if it did i MAYBE didnt choose the right one and when i downloaded it twice it gave me error, i dont remember how it was but like "Crx update_1.rpf (things that i dont remember, i would let that error happen again but i cant wait for 3 hours just to comment)" it happened twice, then i watched more videos and downloaded with rockstar launcher on, and when i did it was done, i turned it on again to make a nickname and etc but then i see that it downloaded in air. i dont know what to do i would delete RedM and download again but when i do it remembers everything, like first it said 5gb files but now it ALWAYS says 4.8 and it says smth like "we will use 0 data disk and download 4.8gb from internet do u agree" i beg someone help me
Much as it's a pain I would highly recommend starting again from scratch. Sounds like you have files in various places and maybe half done or multiple. I'd delete/uninstall whatever you have tried, RedM, rockstar launcher, uninstall the game even. Then you can work your way through carefully. If you have any antivirus software set it up to allow RedM through. I will be releasing a new version of this tutorial very soon which might help but for now just be clear about where things are going and have rockstar launcher and where you bought the game open when you try. You'll get there!

I'm having a issue where RedM is loading up and just disappears and nothing happens Red dead online alone runs great is anyone else having this issue ?
The background music drowns out the character's voices. I have to turn on CC to read what they are saying, so I'm obviously disappointed in the audio.

Hii Kate, i just wanted to ask if i install redM, can stil play RDO and story normaly or do i have to uninstall redM? I really want to try it but also im kinda scared that its going to affect the normal game.
Youve more than likely got an answer, but just to be safe Ill say my piece. I Just installed RedM, but it is the exact same thing as FiveM, the GTA Counterpart, and works basically the same. If I am not mistaked, you'll be able to play the normal game just by launching RDR2 or RDO like normally playing, RedM is just a client that allows you to join the Modded servers, so you'll still be able to play the base game, and RedM without uninstalling.
