Way back in the 1950's my girlriend and I would take this long walk around the Charles River in Cambridge and Harvard College at least a couple times a week. Those were the good moments in our young lives walking hand in hand as two young people in love would do. Times were very different back then with no cell phones and tons of traffic to maneuver around, so it was like we were alone loving every moment of it and each other also. She would be almost 90 years old like me if she was still alive...Thanks Anne for those wonder- ful walks and loving moments..

Everybody visited HARVARD SQ in the 1950'S and 60's 'cause they all could afford to eat there, shop there. go to the movies, etc. Now the price of all of that has gone out of sight so much that the average worker can't afford to eat out at any of the restaurants.

Back in the 1940's and 50's, my friends and I would frequent the restaurants and the UNIVERSITY THEATRE in HARVARD square at least a few times a week and I also had a pretty girlfriend with long blond hair that would also join us enjoying our youth together. Those were the best YEARS of my life now that I look back in time for the happiness that is now gone in my old age of 90 years. Oh well !

I can loviningly remember CENTRAL SQ. way back in the middle 1940's and all of the 50's. We frequented the CENTRAL SQ. theatre and all department stores had Luncheonettes where you could buy breakfast or lunch for 50 CENTS. It was on the corner of PROSPECT ST. and MASS. AVE where I tasted my first HAMBURGER in the 50's. ( WIMPY'S ) Very little crime also from average citizens.
