Surf Beginner Tips & Tricks: How To Stand Up On A Surfboard / The 3 Step Pop Up
One of many ways how to stand up on a surfboard not only for a surf beginner is the 3 step pop up. That method works on every surfboard and every wave.
The 3 step pop up requires a little bit more strength and flexibility than the knee pop up (see my other tutorial) but it is much faster and works much better on shorter boards.
Hope it helps you to improve your surf and you enjoy the video!

    I just tried to do turtle rolls wearing a wetsuit top. Problem is that my body will not submerge. I'd much rather bail and dive if it's clear behind. I don't want the board smashing into my head or breaking my nose.

    I got a problem is that when I look back to check out the wave when paddling, my board somehow would turn to the side I look and not straight which causing Me failed to catch that wave ? How to improve that ?

    • @metasurf967
      @metasurf967 Před 2 lety

      Hey. That's quiet hard to answer without seeing you in action, cause this problem could result from different mistakes. One could be you are not centered with your body weight while you go for those last strokes to catch the waves. Maybe because you open the legs, one leg creates dran and your board turns. Maybe you lie to much on the front so the nose slides under water to the left or right and your board turns too. Another thing could be, that you are centered but you paddle stronger with one arm then the other which turns your board as well. And the other problem could be, when you paddle hard your upper body is moving top much and it creates more pressure on one side of the board and your board will turn too. Let me know if it's one of these mistakes. All the best and keep surfing.
