Okei, you hyped me up. Gota finally watch these movies.
I still think Brain Dead is Jackson’s magnum opus
This video makes me want to cry every time I watch it. ❤
I loved everything but the scenes with frodo and Sam. They were like a husband and wife
Late to this episode, but my wife treated me to movie tickets to see The Two Towers and The Return of The King in the theater for my bday (I never got to see them in theaters), and it was one of the most emotional experiences I've ever experienced and she has now been sold on LOTR, took years to wear her down. Seeing Aragorn and hearing the soundtrack in theaters was incredible.
bro is onto loads of nothing
7:20 the whole purpose of Grond is that it’s another fear tactic that Sauron and Gogmoth are trying to instill in Gondor that it’s all futile and they’re simply going to die. It’s the same reason they launched severed heads in catapults over the walls. Sidenote, It also just looks sick as hell
This is one of the few films that I can never forget. In a good way. It's just... art... that hits.
There won't ever be a trilogy like it again. Not just for the quality but the years long commitment by the staff and actors
Did the sound cut out for yall too? Around 14:00
Nothing will ever come close to the Lord of the rings, but this is the closest a science fiction franchise has ever come. People keep getting mad at me “Lord of the rings is better!” Yeah I agree especially because I watched them as a teenager! but the world building and the attention to detail on display here absolutely deserves a comparison to Lord of the rings.
La la land is just the best movie ever istg no one will ever change my mind
Howard Shore is equally as legendary and talented of a composer as John Williams. Shore proved his mad genius with these movies. Idk how John Williams goes about complimenting other composers work, but I’d like to think that he’s paid his respect and praises to him.

INCEPTION 🤮🤮🤮🤮
This film commits plagiarism at several points, appalling, plagiarism is a crime and those responsible should be punished
The source material was certainly a masterpiece, and they did a damn fine job of adapting it. Have to disagree on the ghost army, though. That was a big mistake in the screenplay and really let me down when I first watched the film. I think my contempt for the things they did wrong has dimmed over the years, and I find it easier to appreciate the many things they did really well.
The cinematography is great. But the story was butchered, and well Denise has always had a problem with dialogue in his film as if he hates it, which makes no sense in a dialogue heavy story. So sorry, great film, but no not a masterpiece. You want to see the story done right, watch the miniseries version. That paid proper homage to the books. If we had Denise visual with the screen play of that... that would be a masterpiece.
I remember watching this video. I was such a different kid back then. Man I fucked up but at least I know I fucked up so that I can mend my ways now.
Its not its mid actually its ok while part 2 was trash
Awesome video on an awesome film. Thank you!
I am just One person But I F ~ HATE THIS NEW DUNE Part One , Part Two
It does indeed open the door for way more shit. It's just a waste compared to the greats at that table.
IMO the 3rd one is the worst one because the big battle has so many simlar story beats as the 2nd film. It's almost like they sold people the same film twice. Also with them been so close to the finish line and the slow struggle with the last leg of the journey I found really frustraighting to watch.
Best essay yet! Basically encapsulating the essence of everything you have said the previous videos but into one thought provoking video.
Hey
Let’s be real, the second one is trash, the story is impossible to follow.
Yea it wasnt nearly as good but is "trash" really the right word? To me its meant to be viewed as a trilogy
Hard to understand
It's a masterpiece !
Na I woulda had the night king trick the heroes and only sent a small force to winterfell. Night king instead marches on kings landing to collect a million more soldiers for the dead. As the heroes realize the truth at winterfell we pan to Cersei looking horrified as she stares down at kings landing being ravaged by the dead. Night king turns her into a white walker using magic and she becomes his “bride” but it’s really more symbolic as the night king mocks the heroes. The final battle really becomes all of Westeros marching on kings landing and in the end the entire capital is destroyed never to be lived in again.
Actual Video Starts from 01:29
The Lord of the Rings is the greatest f'n Masterpiece in film history. My family and I have watched it probably 150 times. It's helped to build unity in our home. Thank you, J.R.R. Tolkien & Peter Jackson.
The best thing from this Masterpiece is when Theoden says: "An Rohan will answer" He is the light of hope for middle earth. His self-sacrifice is what allowed the rest of the Heroes to win. He destroyed his ego and he went on, even when he knew what it meant. I love it. And Eowyn hearing his speech about joining his ancestors without shame, Oh my God, that's so beautiful. Honestly, Boromir, Theoden and Sam are my favourite characters. They represent the courage from within, they will falter sometimes, but their heart allowed them to transcend into fan favourites
I cannot say any one of the three LotR films is better than the other two. They are one story, just as the book itself is "one book", even though Tolkien's publisher demanded that Tolkien split it into three to go to print - they simply didn't think anyone would bother buying something that big and chunky. Now, The Lord of the Rings is sold as it was always intended to be sold: as one book. Sure, you can still get them as three. But... same for the films. The films are almost exactly half the size of the books themselves - so much was removed to even make it feasible to film! And I don't mind that one little bit. There is only one scene - ONE - in the whole trilogy ONE - that I firmly believe Jackson goofed on, and that was Gandalf being confronted by the Witch King in Minas Tirith. How that played out in the film lessened Gandalf's character - who and more importantly WHAT he was. In the books, Gandalf did the opposite: he confronted the Witch King as the gates fell and the Witch King rode into the City "he was never meant to enter". Gandalf showed zero fear, and simply said "You cannot enter here. Go back to your foul master." and the Witch King (foolishly and pridefully) geared up to strike... but the Rohirrim arrived to distract him from what would have been a quick, and decisive death. You see... the Witch King, as powerful as he was IN LIFE, was 1) a man, 2) a WRAITH of a man, and 3) NOT a Maiar. Gandalf was Istari, a Maiar in human form... and the almost-equal in power to Sauron himself. Of all those confronting Sauron, the greatest fear the Dark Lord had was not that Aragorn would take up the Ring... but that GANDALF would. Or Saruman. Or even Radagast! They were the same nature as Sauron himself, and would combine both their own native power with all of his own that he'd placed into the One Ring. And we get a scene where a "wraith of a man, hunched and weak" (read the books - the Nazgul's only real power was 'fear', not fighting ability - hell, a single Numenorian (Aragorn) kicked the ass of the Witch King and four of his mates at THE SAME TIME on Weathertop!) breaks Gandalf's staff? No, that's the only bad point in the whole Trilogy for me... and I give it a pass, excuse it completely. Why? Cos the whole Trilogy is JUST SO GOOD. The best adaptation of a book to a film that has ever been done - and with all the silly nonsense and wokery that Amazon are doing with the IP with their "rings of power" faff just makes Peter Jackson's Masterpiece shine all the greater.
This was the best ending that game of thrones could have ever had
Sam is the greatest portrayal of a character adapted from a book of all time and its not even close.
Lotr was a complete s*** show. The score was good. The acting wasn't bad but the story it's really and the way Peter Jackson made the world look so lifeless the towns are extremely small. The cities were small. I didn't feel like it was worth fighting for The Hobbit trilogy was better. People hated on it for no reason. It was a better story. It was a better movie. Sorry, but it's over
I'm sure 10 years of video production technology had nothing to do with how shit the towns looked. Minas Trith was a joke right? Also LoTR was so emotional, yes they did Faramir dirty but come on how can you say the retarded Hobbit trilogy is better? Is action and graphics (with some horrible cgi for 10 years later) all that matters? Or are you unable to experience the emotional swings in LoTR? Then i feel sorry for you. Dont @ me you have shit judgement
Dany’s character finally has meaning. Thankyou.
It’s probably the only movie that makes me cry and puts lumps in my throat at different times throughout the movies. And it’s not even a sad trilogy like that. But the emotions the actors display, the music that elevates each moment. It’s perfect. These movies are classics. I get chills in certain scenes no matter how many times I rewatch them. God bless.
Jamie as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch is so perfect
You’re absolutely correct in every way way. My wife and I have watched the series probably more than 10 times and we don’t get bored of it at least watch it now once every year and every time it comes on TV we just watch it. There is no movies that has impacted me personally and my wife than these three movies. I 100% agree it is the greatest trilogy in movie history. I could probably talk about this endlessly. I read all the books when I was very young. Then I read them again and my mid 20s then I listen to them on audiobook two years ago. I will probably do it again in several years because the story is so good and the characters become like friends and family.
Like everyone else who truly loved this show, watching this makes me just dwell and be so disappointed with what they actually put out. It could have, and Should have been so much better. Literally everyone would have loved your season 8 and taken it any day over the real thing
Wasn't whole budget for the trilogy something like £300 million which is way less than a typical standalone marvel movie today 😮
I still cant believe these movies are real. It funny that as a kid you enjoy them thoroughly but kinda take them as granted. Remember, we were coming off of a great decade of movies when LOTR came out; Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, new Star Wars, Pulp Fiction, Saving Private Ryan and many many more, so you accept that its how its should be. Its only now that mainstream cinema has largely sank into a cesspool of shit and mediocrity that you realize just how utterly unbelievable it is that stars aligned on every front for these movies to be made. If god exists, this is the undeniable proof.
I don’t know how anyone could not like this video
true.its best.
I’ve watched this movie so much times where I’m up to the point that the color scheme of the film is just enough to make me burst into tears.
We have been forever blessed that there was a Hitchcock that gave us incredible films.
You make great comments. Love your analysis! Made me understand the film more.
