much apprechiated, but i found a paper that tells the Naca already knew this was not entirely true, as efficiency and esp. lift does nit increase but decrease between AR < zero to 10 ! and then actually starts to increase...this is seemingly a well hidden secret and one might wonder why so many airpkanes start at an AR at 6-8 when lower or beyond 10 would be better...🤔but it,s also a gamble to planform taper and performance requirements.... and yes, the basic fairy tale seems still to be longer is better....but people ignore reality so often when they tell the front of a low AR wing " must" have more drag bcs more frontal area...which is idiotic when you scale it to a longer wingspan, you just delute the hight to width...so this is basically just a lie hidden behind half explanations, ....same is the never ending talk about increasing drag ( and vortices) the slower one goes...whixh is idiotic too...as: when this conclusion is followed down to zero speed we have underinite endless drag? really? all this is still haf baked after 120 yrs🤔interesting.... when i look at design failures i wonder if any airpkane designer ever attended any classes in mechanicsl design...well. i know trhat most architects never attend one ...same idiocy same results... the peoblem is that your basics are basically true, but actually don,t explain the variety of design possibilities...the moment you delute and soread the loads over the whole wing...where is the need for a stronger spar? when each sectio. supports its own weight...and so on,,, it would be ideal if aero design would ask for a higher entrance level of pre knowldge...hm?
