Yea buddy!!! Heck yea man! Keep it up!
My brain and body cannot connect to figure these out 😩
Gotta practice or be married to a coach or something.
Double unders are the bane of my existence! You make it look to easy. One day I’ll be able to keep my hands in and my shoulders relaxed 😂
Don’t forget those boxer skips! #dontskiptheskips
I always appreciate the no - nonsense explinations man. So good for my fitness!
Heck yea man! Glad you’re enjoying it! Let us know if you want to see anything specific! We plan on doing a deep dive into jump rope and double unders here soon!
What in the cross fit is shit is this
Genuine question: doesn’t this form of toes to bar use a lot of momentum with each rep, and not put as much isolated and controlled stress on the abs?
Great question! Absolutely there is a lot of momentum and tension that goes into each rep but that doesn’t mean we are not also able to isolate the stress on the abs. A lot of people are not a to get that part right but it is a similar concept to strict vs kipping pull-ups or strict shoulder press vs push press. Basically strict vs momentum based movements. I think with a balance of both you are able to get the most out of your training. It is CRUCIAL to work the strict movements but working momentum based movements allow you to get more volume in and get it in less time. Think of the kipping toes to bar or pull-ups like a drop set in bench press, lighter faster sets etc. No matter what the strict movement should be done and should be done first but once people get a good foundation of core strength and coordination it is a great training tool to work things like kipping toes to bar etc. Hope this makes sense and LOVE the question! Keep them coming and let us know if there is anything else you’d like to see!
Black iron ? What's with the cultural appropriation ?
Not sure if you’re joking or trolling but appreciate the comment. Good talk.
awesome coaching! Would love a muscle up progression video!

Who’s that giant in the back?!
You mean J-Tibbs?
@@blackiron_athletics 😂🙌
Perfect technique, never realized how many pull up variations there are lol
Thank you! There are a ton! With body weight movements there are always variations you can do to make things easier or harder. Like adjusting the angle in a ring row or push up to maintain the position but modify the load. Just get creative and move your body!
Cool

This is the most frustrating movement for me but these tips are great!
Most people struggle with this movement and most people don’t spend enough time working from the hang to really improve. That’s where the magic happens.
😂😂😂 “I dk I guess my rower just shut off by itself”
Haha that's my story if anyone asks...
Do you need to have good mobility for this?
Great question, yes but you can also do it unweighted and focus on engagement and position. Keep it light and focus on doing it right before getting any amount of weight overhead.
That ain’t that bad
Give it a shot!! Let us know how it goes!
Simple, easy cues! Thanks for sharing
Yes sir!!! Glad it was helpful. The old dad on a side lines prop and sink technique for the win! 🏆
Put the script closer to the camera eye so it looks more natural and is harder to tell you're reading.

Only took a decade and still a forever work in progress but at least the practice is fun!

Yea buddy this one was tough, the sprints after all that were killer!
Thats good. W. I love plants too ☺️
Plants are the best! And so are plant moms!
Yeah 👍🏻 and at the first I thought it was a weight lifting equipment something
All in the angles! Haha
@@blackiron_athletics I don't get it. Wdym by all in the angles 😅. I usually don't go to the gym so I don't know much about workouts
No worries, just mean from the side it does look like Kettle Bell, and then from the front it’s obviously a watering can.
If you want to improve your muscle up or maybe get your first rep…. Stop trying to do a big chest to bar, and start pressing the bar down like your jumping a fence. The kip for a bar muscle up is its own unique sequence, and it is not the same kip you’d use for toes to bar or pull-ups. You want to get more of a pendulum, which is normally the opposite of the kind of kip you have with pull-ups or toes to bar. You want to create momentum back and up as your press the bar down and away. One big arch and the rest a tight hollow body, especially as your transition at the top. As your head and shoulders move forward on top of the bar the feet should move backward behind the bars so you can balance. It never hurts to go back to basics and work on the core positions and shape (hollow and arch) if these improve and you treat your muscle up like jumping a fence it’s game over. You’ll have the best looking muscle ups in the gym, without a doubt. If you have any questions or want a follow up with more details let me know!
